The Kop Kid
Senior Squad
O.K, so who have been the worst team or the most difficult to manage that you have encountered so far. So far for me it's Plymouth. A discription...
Compared to say, another Conference side they're actually pretty good. The trouble is that they're in the Championship not the conference which makes things quite difficult.
My pre-season odds for promotion were 100-1. On arrival my team practically all had very low ability (3 of the squad were o.k, but they still had crap average ratings first season).
Transfer budget was 500K for the first season, which may as well have been 500 million for no one would come to the club. I mean no one! "oh no, I'm quite happy playing for Sommerset Bolws Club reserves thankyou" would come the reply, or "Naughtius Maximus agent has indicated that he is quite happy at 'Little Piddling on The Marsh' and moving to Plymouth would represent a step backward."
I endured the first season, finishing 10th through an injury crisis and waiting patiently for an improved transfer budget for the next year. 350K! Yay! Some perverse part of me is enjoying the constant battle to get the team to perform but my god it can be frustrating. That's not a complaint though as It all makes the game feel more real than winning a European final 6-0 with Liverpool or Valencia. I'd recommend managing an utterly sh*te team to anybody wanting to get the very best outa this game. Here endeth the sermon.
