I have so many Africans on my team; mainly because of their speed and the fact that many are available on frees.

Im running away with the second division; my biggest problem is getting good players to join my team. Even if I am willing to pay exhorbitant transfer fees. And some players that are not affiliated with a club team, such as Nersa or Ulyses, will not play with me no matter how much money I offer them in salary. Once I am promoted, will it be easier to lure a Cannavaro or Vieirra?

Yup. Once you get to division 1, usually all players will be available to you, usually. After you win Div. 1, all players will be available, for the right price of course.

I was never too much into the Master League because I didn't understand and didn't feel like reading all of the stuff and I just did International leagues etc. but now that it is summer I have started and it is so damn addicting!!!!

Still have whiles to go before I can be an elite team. Forwards are not the strongest in the world but can do nicely with Figo and Zidane giving them the passes. Defense needs help. Roberto Carlos is the strongest guy and then follows Song who is not the considered a top 5 or top 10 defender in the world. Then Rebosio from Peru who is decent and Volander to clean things up.

Question: Who do you think I should start, Brad Friedel or Van Der Sar (Holland/Netherlands)

I restarted my ML this weekend. The first thing I did was remove Fiorentina (since they no longer exist) and replaced them with Birmingham City (don't ask me why I picked them). I didn't change any of the players (since you start out with the sucky default guys anyway), just the team name and uniforms.

I finished Season 1 last night and ended up finishing 5th out of 8 teams (compared to dead last when I played the first time). I tried a different strategy this time around in my player signings and formation. I'm sticking with the default 3-5-2 formation for now, and I'm building my team from the back: I started with some decent defenders, figuring I could play for draws against the other D3 teams and try to earn some more points. The after solidifying my defense, I tried to sign some decent midfielders. The only things I really lack now are two quality forwards and a goalkeeper. Those are my goals for the offseason.

Ivanov's a pretty good goalie! Castello's pretty good, has some great shots, just no accuracy...

if you want some good, free transfer GKs and CFs, here's who I suggest:

GK: Rustu (Turkey) - his contract's only about 127
Levitsky (Ukraine) - contract's about 170 or 190

Forwards: Mpenza (Belgium) - quick, great shot and accuracy, good dribbling, contract about 240
Olisadebe (Poland) - same as Mpenza, except kinda faster and has a slightly better shot, contract about 300 or so

Anyway theres some guy thats really good in goal, I think hes the Bulgarian keeper, I canne remember his name now

Eusabio was being used by one of the AI teams so I brought him off them, I never use him

Ivanov is now my backup keeper and does a solid job coming in to replace my new starter (Oscar Cordoba).

As for forwards, I signed Adriano and Chiesa from the original Fiorentina team. They're both quick and have good shot ratings (Adriano in particular). I wanted Olisadebe as well but negotiations broke down. I rotate Castello in when one of the these two is tired or blue/grey.

With the new players, I went undefeated in my exhibition games, beating both Newcastle (Division 2) and Real Madrid (Division 1). The only game I didn't win was a draw against Marseille (Division 2).

I've now started Season 2 and lost one game last night to Moscow on a crap goal in injury time. Only game I've lost so far in Season Two...

won the Master Cup too by thrashing Boca 5-0 in the finals
