Today I got a mail from Konami:

Beste Han,

Ik mag je inmiddels al wel vertellen dat de nieuwe PES 4 voor de Xbox in ieder geval live gespeeld kan worden. Verdere informatie heb ik helaas niet.

Translation:
Dear Han,
Now I am allowed to tell you that PES 4 can be played on-line with X-Box LIVE
That's all information I have.

I guess that's great news; I can't get it more official (H) :rockman:

As Microsoft does the LIVE-programming, I expect PES to be on Xbox on-line only.....
Konami always wanted a good gaming-network and that's what they only get on LIVE without making their only network.
Probably they develope their own network in the next year with PES 5 PC being the first to use that....

LOL I expect them to make it official soon, but I provided them with some articles from Xbox magazins, telling about PES on LIVE, so they kept me in touch with their info ;)

I just hope it isn't some dumb receptionist who doesn't know the real facts who emailed you.

Oh well, time to buy an X-box. What about the controller? Is the X-box controller conducive to a natural PES game? Or will I need to get some kind of adapter to play with a PS2 contoller? I don't much like the layout of standard X-box controller.

well i think it will be a huge pain in the ass playing with the std xbox controller. Because its soo huge, i dont have a good grip on even though i have big hand. The S controller(smaller) is much better.
but since both controller only have 2 shoulder buttons, it wont the nice. So i think the black and white button will replace the other two shoulder buttons, but since they are positioned badly on the controller i dont think it will be a feast to play with the official xbox controllers:kader:

Very strange that they'd leak this confirmation to our very own Han prior to any official announcement from anyone.

Han, you sure you just weren't being a pain in the arse and they told you this to make you go away and stop pestering them?;)

If this is true, and provided your initial Konami contact is a woman -- I'm imagining a beautiful Belgian woman -- then you owe her big time. You need to buy her dinner and hit that sh*t as a thank you.:hump:

I think the reason for telling me is that tomorrow start Game Star Live (something like E3) and they show all info overthere.
That's just one day later... In other words, I expect them to make this public very soon.

...and of course I was a pain in the arse :D

that's all good...Dutch women are more beautiful than Belgian women anyway. Remember, buy her dinner first. Take a walk together as the sun sets. Resist the urge to talk about football or your dream ML lineup -- talk about her dreams, her passions, and romance her a little. :hump:

Sorry, just couldn't resist. I just hate PC's. For me, they've died when I'd first put my hands on a PSX many winters ago.
