It will be absolute sacralidge if Richard Wright doesn't get a call-up to the england squad tonight.
With ericksson saying that he will not pick seaman for this friendly then surely Richard Wright has to be next in line at the moment!!!!
Who are his challengers........
David James - conceded something like 18 goals in last four games!!!!
Paul Robinson - Leeds are going though a bad spell at the moment, in the bottom half of the league. Not all down to him at all, but you still have to save 'em don't you, no matter how the rest of the team is playing.
Chris Kirkland - Should be Englands number one, but injured at the moment!!
Then there's...................................
ummm, russell hoult I guess. PLaying very well in a crap team, but not sure if he warrants a call up.
But Richard Wright is playingreally well at the moment, playing for a team that is joint fourth in the table and he has kept more clean sheets than any other keeper in the premiership (well joint with cudicini), so thats more than enough credentials to make a well deserved return to the England team. And he should start!!!!
And the thought of Cudicini becoming the new england keeper in july 2004, which would be great, but surely would be detremental to the progress of the younger england keepers If we have an italian as our number one for the next 5 years or so!!!
