I have followed Ronaldo since 1996 when he scored a header against AIK in the Champions League. I watch that match. I was nine years old. I still remember the super fast Ronaldos moves. His dribblings.
After that game. I started to hate Ronaldo. I knew nothing about him. This time in Barcelona. AIK was the club of my heart in that time (cause they are swedish). Then a week later. I read about Ronaldo. "The Brazilian star scores a hattrick. Who can stop worlds best player" I read. I loved Brazil in that time cause they won the world cup and my uncle always talked about Brazil as the best nation. I thougt. "WOW! Ronaldo is Brazilian. He is so GOOD!" I started to follow Ronaldo and watch every game he played. I loved him and Brazil.
World Cup 1998 / France//
I watched every game. Ronaldo played a superb World Cup ut at that time he was not a world class finnisher like now. He was more allround like Henry but twice as better in every topic.
I was shocked when I heard the commentarys. "Ronaldo will not play the final. He feels ill and won´t play" No Ronaldo in the present starting line up either. I couldn´t get a word form me. I was so schocked. Edmundo was in Ronaldos position. When the players goes in: no Ronaldo and no Edmundo.
Now Ronaldo stepped in the pitch but there was something who was not right about him. I noticed this as a 11 year old football loving boy. The game is going on and before the halftime is over I have seen the love of my heart down to France with 2-0. With a Zidane who I didn´t now who he was so well but in the semi finals a Ronaldo sayd in media. "We must be carefull. Zidane is a superb player"
I was shocked once again. I went to my room and closed the door. I started to cry. I have never cried like I did that day, that moment and that final. My parents heard me crying (who also watched the game with me). I did give up. I didn´t have any hope left. They said, "If France can score two goals in a half Brazil can also do it" I stopped crying and watched the second half instead (cause I didn´t want to watch the second half I was so sad). Brazil played a bit better and the half is keeping on with no goals. Then after lesst then 20-30 minutes left. Petit scores. I didn´t speak with nobody after this.
After the worldcup//
I don´t hear of Ronaldo. I don´t see Ronaldo. He did´nt play any games in a few months. Then the injuries with Inter and I did´stop love football as before cause without Ronaldo in the football there wasn´t a player who was twice as better than the second best in the world. Time goes and goes on. I went 14 years old adn everybody I knew said "Ronaldos time is over" "Ronaldo is at the end".
"NOOOOOO!!! RONALDO WILL BE BACK AND BE THE BEST PLAYER AGAIN. DON´T SAY THAT!! RONALDO IS STILL THE BEST" and I started to cry. Even my own father said "Ronaldos time is over" I started to cry every time and my mother said "don´t say that in front of him"
I read everything about Ronaldo. The partys in Rio, they stoled his car, his got a son etc.
But now. Ronaldo was recovered. My heart was recovered. I looked every where and told everyone about Inter Channel. In the end my uncle got it for me from Italy. Oh man I was happy. I saw some trainings in it when Ronaldo did do his own training and running.
Cuper got there as a manager. I hated him from the first beginning. The time Ronaldo were injured I had Inter in my heart but I also liked Real Madrids play of football and Raul. I watched their Champions League games and it did satisfy me.
"Ronaldo will play, Ronaldo did not play, Ronaldo will play, Ronaldo did not play."
That kept on going but in the end Ronaldo did play. He got substituted with Vieri. Made a cross and kissed heaven and started the dribbling to show the fans he is well. He did it great but didn´t score the 15 minutes he played though. He kept on playing and after that and did 7 goals in 10 games and when Inter had a bad time he helped them to saty in the top. Now I had the chance to see Inter win the first league titel since I don´t now when man. My dream got dead. Lazio - Inter 4 - 2.
A crying Ronaldo got substituted. WTF? Cuper substitutes the best player in the world in a important game like that? I started to hate him more and more. Ronaldo didn´t get to play a 90 minute game in nine of the ten games.
World Cup 2002//
I sayd t myself. "If Ronaldo doesn´t win the golden boot and take Brazil to victory like Romario did 94 he is not the best striker in the world anymore".
The WC started. Ronaldo makes his first goal and I am so happy. the second, third (on a own goal from the start who he got his foot on but then he got the goal), fourth. now it was Belgium. Ronaldo didn´t score and my hope for the golden boot was almost lost cause the games were tight now. But he gets a nice cross and shots it into goal. fifth goal! the sixth against turkey, my favourit in this WC. 2 goals in the final and EIGHT GOALS! in the WC 2002. Ronaldo was still the best player in the world and I got to see Brazil get a gold for the first time in my life. I only saw 94 on tapes afterwards cause I was like 4-7 years old.
My heart was hole again!
Ronaldo to Real Madrid//
What happened??? I was so sad for Inter. The club I loved but I felt so happy to for Ronaldo. It was like I was following with him every where he went and saw every thing he did. This time it was different. I did not now the story behind the transfer.
Real Madrid the best club in the world was the lucky ones.
Ronaldos first season//
23 goals in 30 games and his first league titel in Europe. I was really happy and satisfied with this. He missed the first 5-6 games of the league and CL but now he was back and I was scared about his injuries but he proved me he is hole again.
Ronaldos second season is going on and now he was playing from the start. He got two goals this time last season now his got 12 on 11 games. Ronnie is hot like hell.
After the injuries//
He had to change style of play. He is a smart guy and knew he couldn´t play like he did before. He did take max every game. He ran over the hole pitch dribbled hole teams himself and got marked so hard buy 3-4 players every game. Every team he played in was living on his shoulder. In Madrid he can rest and he has no need of taking max of him. He is lying on 10% without the ball and when he has the ball he goes up to 80% But if you watch Ronnie carefully you see that in games who means much to him hi goes buy 90-95 of his max and when he does that you see. Ronaldo is the best player in the world. In my opinion he is the best. Of all time! Not to mention he has a overweight and still scores the highest average in Europe(!)
Ronaldo vs Henry//
Henry is great. I admire him. He´s very fast and have a nice first touch (like Ronnie) He reminds of the Ronnie before the njuries verymuch but he is not as good at finnishing as Ronaldo was and where. He socres many "easy goals" and in my opinion it is easier to score in England. Henry also takes freekicks and penaltys wich Ronaldo also did many times before he came to Madrid. In that way Henry have an advantage to score more goals in freekicks and penaltys than Ronaldo but still Ronaldo scores more goals. Not to mention Henry playes in the Premier League where it´s easier to score. Henry have already this season scored 2 or 3 of his ten goals on penaltys. And 3 or 4 of the ten goals have been on rebounds.
Henry vs "todays Ronaldo"//
Henry is much better alround and much better in the defense and have a much better work rate. Indeed but that doesn´t make him a better striker. Only more allround. Ronaldo still scores more goals and have world class finnishes and people say Ronaldo can only score goals. Before the injuries he won the assist league in Italy and now in Madrid after the injuries ofcourse is second placed in Real Madrids assist league.
If football were a religion. Ronaldo would´ve been the god.

I haven´t seen much at all of Maradona and Pele except video clips. In my opinion Pele isn´t close to Maradona or Ronaldo. Maradona is great and could´ve do goals like Ronaldo do/did (dribble a hole team and score) I think fo the game vs England first of all. But I let my heart judge that.
