Wow, this world cup is going really bad. :( btw, Diego Milito got an injury during the training but it wasn't serious.

The nation is in a state of shock. Robben has a hamstring injury. As of yet it's not clear yet how severe it is, but the poor guy's had some problems with injuries over the years. Man, this would be a massive blow to our World Cup chances.

WTF with Chelsea's players? After Essien, Ballack and Drogba, now John Obi Mikel is out as well?

Nigeria and Ghana without their best players for this WC. Shame.

As big a loss as this is Mikel is not really our best player.
Funny now Maradona looks like a genius for not playing any more friendlies.

I doubt I'm going to enjoy this WC.
These injuries are disappointing, but I think that's a bit of an overreaction. The injured players are important to their countries, but they're not the best in the World Cup. Nobody's going to remember the 2010 World Cup as the one without Mikel....

I think the entertainment level of the WC is going to depend far more on close matches and comebacks, dark-horse teams, surprise performances from young players, controversial calls, etc. If we get a lot of those, nobody will remember the injury list.

Frankly, I would be more devastated if an injury hit this guy:

I much prefer watching Chelsea's players, and there are only a now. And all of those players are amongst the best in the world in their positions, the WC will be worse without them, at least for me.

Sure, it will be worse. But not enjoyable?

Terry-King was great at EURO 2004

We're in 2010. Not 2004. They're no longer the same as they were in 2004. Especially King. Ferdinand hasn't been particularly impressive this season anyways. A big loss considering he's their skipper. But they can do without him I guess.

Stop whining. Most of your players are gonna be there. Chelsea have 13 players going to the WC. Only 3 players are not going due to injury. United for eg have only 8 going to the WC.
