World Cup Group F: Australia vs Japan [P+R]

Congrats to Australia, props to Cahill and Hiddink sending him in ... in 10 minutes they had a beautiful display of heart and football. You can't expect less from a team coached by Guus Hiddink

So far, Ecuador and Australia are the new teams to watch.

Congrats to the Aussies and Guus did it again, his golden touch with subs has paid out again with Tim Cahill what a good goals and the last one from Aloisi wasn't bad either ;)
Well it looked like Guus turned this team around in a half year, winning their first game at the WC well done indeed but then again what else is new with Guus at the helm. Did you see the reaction from him when he wasn't allowed to watch the footage on that little monitor from the fifth ref. He was really pissed and just shoved him aside now that's Guus hahaha :p
He was just on Dutch television telling the interviewers that he didn't appologised either only half :chew:
Everyone was allowed to see the images except the coaches and this made him angry he said and he's right too.
Schwarzer should've kept that ball out according to Guus btw ;)

Effing Egyptian refs!! Terrible in this game and the Egyptian ref last year that 100% screwed Spain last year :nape: Keep 'em out of the World Cup.

That other Egyptian ref is one dirty asshat, i hated him with a passion, i think his name is Gamal Ghandour. I hope he doesn't see another football pitch for the rest of his life.

Ya he was Gamal Al Ghandour, I know how it feels when a country gets kicked out of the world cup because of a refree's fault but it wasn't his fault in the match of Spain against Korea. It was the lines man fault, He raised his flag & thats why Gamal Al Ghandour cancelled the goal.

by the way, Gamal Al Ghandour retired 3 yrz ago.

What a match. Well played to the Aussies (H)

Penalty probably, but not a sending off. He wasn't last man and it wasn't a dangerous challenge, just a mis-timed one.

ya but he deserves a yellow card at least, that would be the 2nd yellow card.

What a game!

Crazy finish, Cahill is amazing ! Better start next game.

It could have been very different though because right after the 1st Cahill goal, Japan should have been awarded a penalty-kick. I thought a draw would have been a more fair result but oh well great game.

Hiddink made great subs with Cahill and Aloisi, but he lacked class when a Japanese player was down he pushed the trainers away from the field pretty f*cking hard.

good match anyways

I can't understand why Chaill is a bench player in Austrailia NT.
He is thew best player by far.
And I miss Kevin Muscat in tjis NT. =)

He isnt a bench player. He was coming back from injury and it wasnt known if he was fit enough to last 90 minutes.

I was on the edge of my seat for a few moments during that game. Liked it pretty much, very intense stuff. Depending on how they fair against Croatia, they have a good shot at the second round.

What a match, i havent been that thrilled by a game of football in some time now, from the pits of depression to euphoria in a 6 minute period was amazing!!
I had an exam this morning and a hangover to end all hangovers but it was well worth it :rockman:

Those whinging about Cahill's so-called penalty and the fact that would have changed the game, the same can be said for the challenge on Schwarzer earlier that lead to the Japanese goal, if that didn't go in the game would have been different.

The referee admitted his mistake with Schwarzer, but not with the Cahill decision.

I believe it's what they call "even's out".

Yeh if the Japans goal had of been called a foul, we wouldnt of been playing a 3-4-3. There wouldnt of been big holes at the back.

I think the result was fair :)

Congratulations to the Aussies.

If this is a true reflection of their capabilities, shows how unjust the WC qualifications are. Oceania deserve a full spot!

Yeah...and everytime its going to be Australia in the World Cup
Are you crazy?...With opponents like Fiji, American Samoa, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Tonga...ok, and New Zealand, hah
Do you know that Australia holds the world record for biggest win in national footbal history: 31-0 vs American Samoa, and Archie Tompson sets another world record - 13 goals in a match.

Play-off for them is fair for me :)

Its not our fault that our opponents are less skilled than us, with the exception of NZ the only other OFC qualifyer for a finals.... :jambo:
