WORLD CUP EVERY 2 YEARS???? POST YOUR COMENTS....

I think that it would be great if we could have wcs every 2 years....i hate having to wait 4 years until the next one....and that format would let more countries such as south africa, australia....host the wc onces again...and would let brazil, england, italy and spain host it onces again.....i can see why back in the 1930s, when they first started having this tornament, they would want to wait 4 years cuz transportation wasn't as fast as it is today....but i think this 4 years wait is a waste of time nowdays....some awesome players never even got to win the cup like Zico, Platini, Van Basten.....etc...so what do you think....should fifa change the wc format? So we can watch twiece as much wcs in a life time? post your coments.....

No. If we look closely at the Champions League, the games this year have poor TV figures compared to previous years... The World Cup is very well the way it is... Reducing the interval to 4 years would
a) stress the qualification for both WC and Copa America, European cup and so
b) reduce the appeal of the World Cup

So I think that the 4 year interval is perfect.

yeah those are strong points but i still would like to see it every two years or three....cuz where i live you see very little soccer on tv....you get some champions league action and like no international games at all and when the wc comes around thats the only time you can actually watch your nation or favourite players play...... Whenever I get some extra dough ill probably buy myself a satellite.....

Yeah they would be played in the same year i guess then.....i can handle it....two major competitions in the same year....not too bad at all...

Yeah, you can handle. But do you think the footballers can?

As a Galatasaray fan, I know that it's hard to play too often because Galatasaray has been playing in three competitions for a few years and we see that many players injured. We can't have a very rich squad, for example four elite strikers, so we have such problems.

That's what they are paid to do......i mean if i was a professional soccer player i wouldn't mind playing soccer every other day or even everyday....i don't think i would ever get sick of playing soccer....

the 4 year wait is good because it makes you look forward to it and if it was every 2 years it wouldn't be as exciting

nope it would take away from the history and the prestige, winning the world cup wouldn't be valued as much

no, the world cup is a great event, whats the use of having more conntries host the world cup if it comes every 2 years???
they can host the world cup as many times as they want and it will not be so prestigious anymore.

secondly, your point of view is assuming that these countries have the resources and money to build the infrastructure and I dunno if this assumption is valid, so we nay have to check on this one.

on your 2nd point, that great players never even got to win the cup...
this is of course assuming that every great players will win the world cup? I think the lifespan of a player will be around 15years. in 15 years, assuming that the players can play in a minimum of 2 WCs and if they dun win in them, thats a fair amount of chance they have.
If u are going 2 talk about injury, then obviously, your point view is invald. even if we have WC every 2 years, they will still not be fit in 2 years and they may have to wait 4 long years anyway.

i personally would love this idea but i know it is not feasible... as there are too many countries involved in the qualify round... just look at the asia group qualifying matches... i bet that each teams that came from asia played double amount of matches as compare to those of south america...
