well, what I think about it:

major changes - which all of us waits for
minor changes - which can be but if not, nobody would miss them

  • more master league teams, 64 teams -> 138 teams
major improvement, more teams - less hard choices which team you have to remove if you want to add another
  • real team names from leagues in spain, italy, england, germany, france, holland
yeah, who cares? after first week there will be many option files with real names available; not important for me
  • a total of more than 200 club and national teams
practically the same news as above, more teams highly expected
  • more elements added to the development/retirement of master league players
sounds mysterious, dunno what to think about it coz no concretes here
  • the free kick u've all been waiting for! u can select 1 of 2 players to take the kick
nice, I understand by this a freekick which Deportivo like to perform last time ;) one player rolls the ball and second kicks "la bomba"
  • new modes for search (through) pass and centering allowing more control to the player
new modes - off the ball? or smth like Namco wants to implement in Football Kingdom; I hope it will be ability to make your player run forward to pass to him
  • new feint turn, ball control techniques
new tricks always welcomed :rockman: hope they'll add Ronni feint or Okocha heel flip and not just other undiscovered "strange turns"
  • new soccer rules and game control help screens
wow, new soccer rules? maybe new UEFA rules like yellow cards for players who undress their shirts after scoring or 10 m lenght from wall during free kick; help screens sounds not too important, you'll read it once and forget it
  • friendlier pause menu with quick control view
existing pause menu is very friendly fo me, it doesn't have to be friendlier :p
  • referees will be seen on pitch during the game, and according to the pitch conditions, wear and tear/dirt will be see on the player's uniforms
referee is not important for me but many ppl want him - hope they'll add possibility to turn him OFF :D dirty wears will be COOL, hopefully not so suck like in FIFA where players are always dirty after first half even if none of them touched the ground and played in beautiful sunny day
  • editable trophy and league names
nah, we can do this by ourselves with hexedit and relase option file with it :p
  • jfa licenced japan A team and japan under 23 team
yeah, surely good news for Japaneese friends ;) but not for me :p
Total: six major improvements and six rether minor changes, not so good as expected; hopefully it was just uncomplete piece of changes and final versions kick our asses !!!:rockman: I know it coz it's KONAMI, they don't lie like ehm... some EAsy firm and they know how to make a good game
Rest is PES
(WE)

I think they mean that younger players can develope into better, older players. Also players will retire when they are old. I expect that that player will be replaced by a new talent. At least thats what I make of it.....

I think they just mean new ways of performing passes. I don't read anything about off the ball running here...

Yes, let's hope we can switch the ref off; he's only running in the way :)

i hope this new free kick system doesnt get too scripted like fifa if you know what i mean..

personally, gameplay is the only area where i highly expect improvements. i dont care about number of teams, names leagues sooo much... e.g. through passes, crosses and headers need finetuning.. also i expect an advanced version of super cancel. it should also be possible to control your player even if you have the ball. imagine the new fakes which could get possible with this...

i'm sure also this time konami will release a great game. no doubt about this. too bad i dont have ps2  must wait for pc version

The PS2 still provides the definitive PES experience. The PC or Xbox won't be able to match it - it feels different playing it on PC, anyone who's played both versions can attest to that I'm sure.

That's your opinion. I have the PS2 version and PC version and the PC version is far better. Graphically it's miles better as well as frame rate, also the gameplay is better on the PC version, it's harder for example to run down the wing and cross the ball in, therefore more challenging. Also PS2's version is a bit too quick, the speed of the players when they sprint is a bit unrealistic. The PC version is also easier to patch to give a more realistic feel to it. It's all down to opinion, not a matter of fact.

I agree. I've been saying that for years..

The only advantage the PC guys have is higher resolution. I don't even consider that an advantage. Doesn't look any better to me. And I can just as easily patch the ps2 version as they can the PC version. Plus, we get more version.s :p

as one poster point out the Gameplay only needs fine tuning, I hope for a little more off the ball runs by my ai team mates, but that apart I hope they don't go for something like FIFAs passing system of passing to player 1,2, or3.

I seen the piece on the teams for Pes4 or whatever its called WE8....

Does anyone know if Glagow Celtic and Rangers will be or are included in the offical teams ( real name and strips)..

thanks.

I played the PC and the PS2 version. I liked the PC version more: better graphics, a bit slower gameplay. There is no need to argue, which is better. They are all great!

LOL man, only 2 million people that buy this game for the PS2 each year but hey... it's only 2 million. Who cares, right? :rockman:

LOL, it's a nice feature but only a nice feature. Red for me but more like Blue for some. ;)

man i think since konami has proven they are better than fifa, they should steal some of there ideas that they stopped using. like being able to curve the ball yourself but bot important. i mean take some i deas.

i dont think there will be off the ball control bcuz fifa has a patten on it. so it is solely for them

@Jumbo I wrote "what I think about it"
everyone has their own wishes, what's important for me doesn't have to be important for you; as a fan of ISS/WE/PES series I always had all unlicensed and it never stopped me from plaing that; since PES3 I started patching my game, it was cool but I didn't care about it more than other ascpects; the only thing I like the most are goal jingles after scoring, it's damn nice to hear the winner music when you finally score @5 stars with some crappy team against Arsenal, it carry weight on "game pleasure" or smth
over * milion ppl buy FIFA every year and it doesn't mean they know what's the best :mrpimp:

* - if you know enter digit ;-)
