Windows XP PRO & FIFA 2004

Hello all


I'm having a great problem here with my cpu when I try to install FIFA 2004.

I put the disc into the cdrom to install the game. The install screen comes up, I press the install button and then put in my serial code. Then I press next. The setup crashes and I get an error message on the screen that says " EA sports auto run has had an error and needs to close"

I saw that message and tried to use the setup.exe. But I had the same error come on the screen saying that the autorun has had a problem and needs to close.

It gives me a n option to send a error report, which i have done.

I have been on the phone whit microsoft for an HR. and then EA Sports for about 45 mins. They could not find a way to fix this problem.

I finally did a reformat of my OS ( Windows XP Pro ) Thinking this might work but also this has not fixed the problem.

I still get the same error message and can not get past the serial code area of setup for the game.

If there is anyone who can give me hand or might know something else that I could try please do let me know.

hello again

Is there anyone here who can give me a step by step way of doing a reformat/install of windows xp. I dont think i did it the right way,

Im not very good with this type of stuff..

yeah you are right Kramer ( i love your screen name) I had a tech out to the house today. I have a sony vaio, the cpu came with windows ME. He told me that sony cpu's have lots of problems with win xp and win 2k.

I had the system disks that came with the cpu. He said your best bet would be to install ME again. So that what we did the game works now, and it runs great.

Although ME is not the best OS it is doing the job for me. So I will use it until I get the new cpu that Im building is ready.
Im not a football fan, I know nothing about this game at all. But I like to make kits and tis game seems kind of cool. Im playing a season with Bristal city England 2nd division.

I'm sure there are things that need to be fixed in this game, But i really dont know a good sim football gane from a bad. So for me I thinks a good job.

i dont have windows ME
i am using winxp pro...
