Ive definately hhad the 4074 build on my machine though. Its quite funny atually cause ive since formatted the partition that i installed it on but my PC still thinks its installed. Which means that whenever i boot up i have to decide betweenlonhorn, which won't load, and 2000.

It's 64 bit right? Launchdate coincides with Intels' new 64-bit processor . . . :S

I'll be on 64 bit soon anyway with an Athlon 64 (Y)

I dunno, it never said so i guess not. I'm sure Microsoft would have advertised it in some way if it was. The cow cash freaks.

i know i got some great longhorn themes for stylexp. i got a great one. I have about 10 themes and i got one with 5 styles. Jade athens plex slate and ergh don't remember lol.

And yep probably not longhorn. Like XP it was codename whistler. But longhorn codename is much more promoted than the whistler. I mean i don't remember calling them whistler but i remember saying XP.

Yeha but XP isnt as big a change. All they did was change the style and make it more user friendly, thats about it. Longhorn will be a significant change. The way it organises files on the hard drive will be differnet for example. Now, IMO, thats quite a significant change.

Unfortunately it's one of the only ones to play all of todays games too! Longhorn is 64-bit right? Which means people will have to upgrade processors to cope with it. (not me when my Athlon 64 arrives tho) (H)

well it will only be around 2006ish...... 3 years after athlon64 came out......... so it really shouldnt be that much of a jump.... esp. considering that xp64 is coming out next year and intel is on the verge of a 64 bit processor itself :)

your copy of longhorn is probably pirated since it isn't going to be released for another couple of years.

No, it wasn't. It was a BETA build. Well, i think it was, it might have been an Alpha build but it definately won't look like it did wen it is released. Microsoft will change the GUI.

It looks like the Avalon UI is going to be axed. And the WinFS file system is in doubt as well, if Microsoft are going to release on time.
