Why is Sampdoria just called Doria?

Team names cannot be customised.

What is Doria anyway?
Anybody know?

they most likely didn't get the license for the team, so they couldn't use their official name.

NO NO NO NO...Samdoria had economical issues and debts so they closed it down and refounded it with a new name.

Things like this tend to happen with football clubs with the blessing of the goverment. It is totally legal although i cannot understand how can that be.

This is what i heard. The same happened with fiorentina

This is not true... Their name is UC Sampdoria and they weren't refundated like Fiorentina.

Al leagues in the game are great but the Italian league always has some problems every year in the fifa series.

I can accept the fact that some Italian clubs don't have shirt sponsors. I can also accept the fact that Fiorentina is called Firenze. I can also accept the fact that some italian team logos aren't real (ex: Cagliari, Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Bologna etc) all fake

But the fact that Sampdoria is called Doria just bothers me.
The game doesn't allow you to customise the team name.

i think a few serie B clubs have this too, im nto sure which ones though
