why is EA trying to control us?

they have the audacity to tell us that we have to play the game for a certain amount of time just to get unlockables. not only that they tell us that we HAVE to play with other teams. if this isn't indirect control what is it then? i have been a fifa fan since fifa 98 but i have to admit that this is pure haughtiness from their part. i know that they are getting quite big in the business and corporate world but doesn't give them the right to impose their will on their consumers. if i want to play with chelsea and only chelsea what business is it of theirs ? their job is to make the game sell it and don't tell us who we have to play with and what competions we have to play and the amount of time we should spend on the game. i see a very bad continuum here .if we do not prostest against this, who knows what else they got under their sleeves for the next game. unlock star players? home kits for star teams? unlock the epl? this is a trend that i wish to stop.
this is not an adventure game where you have to go through some stages to reach your goal. this is a sport game with thousands of teams and we should not be forced to do anything. i.e i only play 5 leagues english, french, italian, german and spanish and i only play with the elite teams of those leagues.
i also play fifa all the time. now what has gotten into ea and they tink they can make us their robots. since last year with that ea bio crap and now wth unlocking night stadiums? they have really lost it and are stirring the gamers ire with the already average gameplay.
EA SORTS if you read this, i would like you to stop putting unlockables of thing that should be in the game. i have no problem with bonuses, but the unlockables you put out recently are ludicrous and are annoying me.

dude i recently became a soccer fan and i have gotten into fifa because it was the one available in stores and i love fifa 2005 and think its superior to 2004 even though there is some problems (ah-hem career mode). I find it absolutely great that you have to work to get to the teams that you want to play with it puts the ball in the gamers court, just be creative and create personal goals for yourself in the game... I do that and and restart and do it again.. I played through 5 seasons with leagues all over the world and i find it amazing but now i decide that i want to create myself and become one of the best of the world so I start over career mode with my created player and im gonna have fun doing it again...

I am trying to say that all that it is is imagination, be creative and the game is fun, and thats all i have to say about that....

Like, play in the tournament mode, with chelsea, you can do it!!!

my main point is that they should let us make the decision on who to play with .they can't make us play with any team they want that is not right. i bought the game and who i play with and how many time i play the game is my business. it should not be influence by some game programmers and marketing advisors who probably have a version of the game where they have everything9stadium, kits et cetera).

my take on this whole thing, is that i think is very damn stupid for they to tell us what teams we can coach during the first years If and only If those players retire. If i want my 15th year to be with real madrid, well there's no point cause all the players are retired by then. hell into my 5th season, beckham, zidane, r. carlos, nedved and thuram had retired. and those teams they play for i wanted to play with a full squad like they do in real life. so i agree with yib but only bc players retire

I like your point, but, like you said, they are INFLUENCING you, not CONTROLLING you... You can still play with Chelsea all the time, but if you want to get ALL the unlockables then you have to do some "work" and play with teams you don't want to.
But you can still earn quite a few points and unlock your favourite things... just not ALL of them.

I have read so many threads about this topic and heard all of the complaints.. and people talking of the good old days of fifa 98.. so if you look at it those of you who do nothing but complain have been buying a product annually for 6 or more years that you don't like.. if this was a food product that you didn't like would continue to purchase it.. mr damo u do not make sense when u compare fifa with food. a car would be much more realistic.
ea tell us that they always going to make it better et cetera et cetera. so ts obviously not like food beause with food you already know the taste. besides you should stop people who are complainig about aspects of the game to stop buying it. that is not the solution to the problem. i don't have to like everything in it. if i see something wrong with it i'm going to voice my opinion.

Get a life... get PES!!!

Just to clarify... I've been playing FIFA and have been a fan of it since 1994, I've played ALL FIFAS since then until 2003, where FINALLY Konami came out from the consoles and leapt to the PC...

It's just that there's no way on Earth you can say FIFA is better than PES. The only area in which it is superior is in the licenses... and that's just because they have more money. In 2-3 year's time, Konami will have the same amount of licenses as EA has, and then... there won't even be any competition.

ah-hem i dont play religiously to have a option i have a life and i decided to get a game that was available at the store and that was Fifa, soccer isnt big in the states where you can get different options on games and i dont have the money or the time to get PES, I buy Konami games for adventure or rpgs, I dont trust a company like that to make a sports game.

I go with the EA for any sports game because they make the games enjoyable and not boring after awhile.... so make mines FIFA... and shouldnt you be lurking around the PES forums rather than bugging the FIFA forums

Sorry, I was not trying to bug anyone, just wanted to give you a piece of advice.

You can download the PES demo for free and if you like it and have the money, maybe you can rethink your answer.

If not, well, enjoy FIFA. I downloaded it first to see what it was and after 3 days of downloading 2 CDs decided to uninstall it after just 5 games...

NYHits said it right. We don't even have the new PES game here in the states until at least March, maybe later. If Konami had half a clue about how to market their game, they might sell more copies. However, they're fools because they release the game in Japan under the PES name, then a month or two later, they release it in Europe under the PES name...fast forward to the end of the football season in Europe, and they release it in North America when the season is nearly over. The worst part is, they call it Winning Eleven. If you didn't know any better, you would think that you were playing a completely different game.

As for what yibwa-ye is upset about...I think that the new career mode is good. Sir Alex Ferguson didn't very well start his career with United, did he? I know the game isn't completely realistic in terms of game play, but no one would hire some guy off the street to manage a team like Chelsea. If you're so upset about it, just simulate through the early seasons so you can get to the club you want to be at. If you're playing on PC, there is a patch that you can download that will allow you to begin your career with any team. I would suggest that you download that.

bryan you seem to be one of those fifa fan who never question thier incapacity. you take whatever they give you and you don't complain. i want ea to become better and make giant strides towars the real life aspects of the game. and no they dont do whatever they please they do what the fans ask for why do you think that they visit these forums?? hum
and another handicap of this game is that 97 % of the detailed players(faces) are from europe , even if they are woeful. Why is that? thts illogical

i dont know maybe becuase the developers are from Europe... does it bother, they have the players everyone knows are the detailed player faces and in many cases thats all that matters... remember there are 11,000 players in the game you wont be able to make detail faces for all of them, at least there are playcalling players who should be announced, slowly but surely the game will change but dont expect them to do it in one season

i thought that the player who had faces earned it through recongnition of talent, not of nationality or continental tie with the game developers. if some one crap like coradi is given a face and kAKA ISN'T IS THAT FAIR. inzaghi of lazio even got a face ahead of drogba, poom ahead of kolo toure et ctera et cetera. this is nepotism from those game makers.
