Why do we do it?

Why does everyone buy FIFA just too simply update it?

If no one bought it, then surely EA would try harder next time, so that it wouldn’t have to be updated...as much.

I spent my time trying to make FIFA 2002 gameplay better and it only worked for a little while, I am now totally stuck for ideas and can’t be bothered…if I had just spent a little more time with the game demo, I would have NEVER bought it.

The only reason people buy the game is because they get sucked into the latest graphics and the odd gameplay gimmick and think it’s brilliant until one day the usual sh*t gameplay comes back and you realise just how similar it is to the last one, e.g. 2002 FIFA World Cup. Except that game has LESS options and modes then FIFA 2002, how retarded is that??

As long as EA get our money, they won’t try and make a better game.

EA will never top ISS gameplay, maybe graphics, but never animations or realism…EA’s game is boring and unexciting, and besides all they're bothered about is making the game look better each time, they're thick.

What a bore their games are!

We sit down, making kits and faces, new stadiums, improving gameplay, trying to make the sh*t game better and EA laugh, because they know that we’re basically making their game!

Now I think what you guys do, updating the game is brilliant, and the patches that are coming out now are fantastic, but really, it’s sad, EA should know what we want and they never do it, yet we always buy their crappy games.

come on fair go.
compare 2001 gameplay to 2002's...
hmmm EA ARE making some progress.
and remember WC isnt really a sequel as such, its really just meant to be a bells and whistles World Cup version of FIFA 2002.
Perfecting the World Cup, and little more..

I think that Nick is right, why would EA risk spending more money on developing the game when they get a huge profit anyway. I dont think we should blame the people who design and make the game, but blame EA for not giving them the money to do research, and for not hiring the best programmers.
Does anybody see a huge difference between Fifa 99 and fifa 2002. I dont. Fifa is always the same style, has the same options (apart from a few little things), the same animations (like the ball moving without any force).
The only differences have been real kits, real faces, better crowd, power-up passing and shooting, a few new animations, some more cheesy commentary lines, THATS IT!!!

Gameplay is different.
Play 2000-then 2001. now thats very similar. NOW play 2002. VERY DIFFERENT.
I SAY GET OVER IT! People buy FIFA because they either wanted the game, OR they like it...It always sells in huge amounts. Game magazines always rate it highly.
It cant be that bad a game!

ONe thing i want to know is, HOW THE HELL CAN YOU PAY 30 QUID FOR WORLD CUP 2002, come on its better than fifa2002 but people are saying they are going to just play that from now on, HOW ABOUT club teams, its stupid, you have less features less teams, and they charge exactly the same damn price than fifa2002

TO me it should only cost 15 auid as thats what its worth and thats how much they need, dotn argue with me about production cost etc,...., it toook them less time to make this because the were sitting for monts drinking coffee and having there *** sessions.

I havent bought it and i wont... not for that price.., damn its 40 quid on PS2 COME ON!!!! this is a joke!!!!.

Look how easy ariel incorpourated skill moves and arial skill sinto fifa2002, its nearly to world cup 2002 standards becaus eof him, now how long did it take him, not that damn long.

Wow. You finally come to your senses Nick. I know when FIFA2002 first came out, you and I had a go about FIFA. Glad to see that you finally see the lights. EA's target a broad audience so FIFA will never have realistic gameplay because in their eyes that will turn people away. EA is not dumb. I believe that they can make FIFA have realistic gameplay. But it is not in their interest. Their primary goal is to make money and lots of it as with every gaming developer. There are different ways to do this. Ea opted for the fancy graphics and simple gameplay because they know that is what selling. Someone said this to me and kinda makes sense. There are basically two kind of gamers. There is the kind that basically see things as the way they are on the surface. These kind of people like fancy graphics and direct gameplay. They love First person shooter games because it is basically a search and destroy mission. Then there is the kind of gamers who dwell deep down the surface of a game. These people tends to look beyond the graphics and the direct gameplay. They want a complex game that will challenge their mind. These kind of gamers like RPG games or complex simulations like the CIV3. There is nothing wrong with either kind. It is just the way people are. I believe that a majority of FIFA fans falls in the first category. They fancy the graphics and the simple direct gameplay and tend not to care if the game is realistic or not. For them it is just fun. Fun is really relative to each person. What is fun to someone may not be to another. Fun for someone is scoring beating the cpu 12-0 and 8 of those goals are repetative. For others, it might be 1-0 winning on penalty but they feel they appreciated a greater satisfaction because they earned it. Enough about this talk, I hope you get what I am trying to say. As far as people updating and making patches. That's their provocative. I used to do that but is such as waste of time. I would rather play footie or a decent footie game then wasting my time making patches for something that I deem is not worth it. Why, because in my eyes, I am putting more effort into something that should have been so much better in the first place. And this is at the expense of my free time while the EA programmers and artists are getting **** load of money for their work. I don't want to discourage people to do patches because it is up to them. Sometimes these people need FIFA because they enjoy editing graphics. Otherwise they might need to pick up a new hobby or a new job.
