What part don't you understand of "We don't care". We are CM fans, take this to the appropriate forum. Comprendes?

We probably would have gave decent replies if there was not a thread literally the same as this locked 15 minutes ago.

Nobody has yet said that CM is perfect
Nobody is treating you like a war criminal

Please min nobody has said any of those things, take an hour or so to look at other threads in this forum and you will see that at some points we can be heavily critical on CM, we just love it because it is the most impressive management game any of us have played.

You are right... a couple of you didnt like my thread but what about letting the members decide if they want to answer my question instead of closing the thread. You never know, maybe some of the other members had some constructive to say about the strenghts and weaknesses of CM in compared to other games. The members that didn't want to comment on it should just ignore it. Isn't that how a forum works. And by the way you can hardly say that my thread was in the wrong forum since it was about CM.

Sorry min but I had a number of requests from people to close it.

Correct it was in the right forum but like I said we have had allot of spamming problems, meaning I wish to sweep up the problem before it becomes any worse. I thought it was a potential spamming thread ass did the requests I have recieved.

Yeah BUT THIS IS NOT a Player Manager Vs CM forum.
If Player Manager 2003 is worth to be compared to CM I'm sure there is forum you can do what you want. You are free to go there, and if you find this forum tell me so I can come and what other ppl have 2 say

Its not the exact replies I would have liked in this forum.....but what can I do....I started out by saying cm, I have played as long as I remember.....thats a + in its self I believe....I also said that I'm not hear to comerzialize pm, but trying to discuss.....the lacks of cm the lacks of pm.....the skills of cm the skills of pm.....and try to see what you would have to say about it.....you didn't come up with much.....no loss no win...are you ready to talk about it now maybe!!

Yeah I know that feeling. That is how I felt in many years. CM was like 1000% better than the nearest competitor but that didnt keep me for trying out some of the new manager games. Some of the games had some interesting features but didn't work as a game. Now PM2003 has been launched and I just think that it is very positive that it actually (in my oppinion) can compete with CM. Its due to the fact that it has a great match engine. However PM misses many details that CM has. So I guess its a question of temperament. Does this offend any of you... isn't this a valid issue?

Ok, lets put it this way.

We are CM fans, if we wanted different games, we would not rely upon being told by others.

Tell me something another management game has that CM does not better?

Ekelund, no that does not offend us. I play Ultimate soccer manager 98 because I like managing the business side of the game. I went on and on about it for two weeks, I never posted a thread on it though.

Ok seems like you are finally ready to talk. Thanks :)

First have you tried PM2003?
It has a fantastic match engine. You see the match with your own eyes and (in my oppinion) it is much more fun that the old CM text based and the new 2D CM4 engine. Well I cant say much about CM4 as I only played the demo that didn't impress me.
I know, the graphical match engine has been tried before without success but in PM it actually works. Its fun to watch and is a revolutionary step in the development of manager games. However PM2003 still needs alot of the details outside the pitch that CM has.
The reason why I like watching the players do their thing on the pitch is the same reason why I look at football in TV. Its great to see a brilliant goal, and in short you get much more information through pictures than you ever can make with text based matches. I hope that CM in time will develop their match engine so we will have a complete game.

Happy hammer talks

Happy hammer you can talk without makin knee caps involved in your language....thats great mate!....first of all pm has a feature that I think that should be a feature in every manager game existing....visual individuality....evry player is individual on the fireld.....and you can spot the talent on the field instead of reading about it thats someting cm doesn't have....another feature that is essential to a management game is the game engine is fast it doesn't take you several minutes or on slower computers alot of minutes to calculate the days you can jump to the next week without getting hurt of anything.....if any action happens during the week it stops automatically.....the goals are great to watch and you get the feeling that your the manager on the bench...you swear when a player does a stupid thing with the ball....you get the managers frustration and joy at the same time...lets keep on talking

God knows how it is like watching the match as if you are manager judging by that screenshot. Does Ferguson watch his games in a blimp? ;)

It looks like LMA manager, USM98 has a 3d and 2d engine. I love making tactics, so I used the 2d overhead view. 3D engines are a no-no for me Unless the camera is positioned on the touchline where the half way line is as if you were watching that game as a real manager, that would be cool.

Fortunately you can zome in and out and change the camera angle. I know you have reason to be sceptic about it since every other manager game have failed when they tried to make graphical match engines so it also came as a big surprise for me when the PM match engine actually worked. In my oppinion the other manager games like TCM were to ambitious when it came to graphics. They should have made made the games fun to watch instead of pretty on the surface.

The leading developer of PM Steve Sreech (you might remember him from the old amiga game Kick Off) has great passion for the game and this you see it the way the match engine works.

If you download the PM2003 demo you will find that it has some bugs. Luckily Steve and the rest of his crew has made a patch and the game is great now. PM also have a forum where you can actually suggest what you feel should be better. The programmers monitor this forum and even reply like 5 mins after you have posted.

PM is not as good as CM when it comes to tactics and realism outside the pitch. You can make your own tactics and there is a few player commands as well but compared to CM4 this is not as detailed. Steve Sreech admits this and has said that he would develop this part of the game in the PM2004 release. In fact most of the things in PM are not as good as in CM except for the match engine and a player talk option. However the PM match engine makes the whole game great eventhough its no CM off the pitch.

So you see... both games have something to offer. I think I will be playing both CM4 and PM2003 for a long time. It's a dangerous combination. :mrpimp:

Another one bites the dust. Warez talk. Pass go, do not collect £200.

Ekelund, Kick off was the first ever football game I played. Have you tried Ultimate Soccer Manager 98?
