Everyone in god damn America cares, except for North America because they dont get a shot of participating. It looks like mexican teams will get to travel to Yokohama if they win the Libertadores next years. And a lot of people in Europe cares, if you looked at the face of the Milanese players, like Kaka, Sheva, Inzaghi, Pancaro and some others you would realize. For me, to say that this trophy is worthless, is plain bullcrap, arrogance, or an excuse for losing it. Not saying that anyone here is arrogant, but Seedorf sounds like he doesnt give a sh!t to the trophy, especially when he misses a penalty and starts to smile, and right after that, he raises his head and starts to walk like he's the king of the world.

Quite right, all the football Confederations should be represented in a cup in order for the title of World Champions to be accurate, but due to the absence of such a tournament it means the Intercontinental Cup is the World Cup for Clubs and as such gives the title of World Champions.
In fact, I think that when the first Intercontinental Cup was organized (1960), the only football Federations that had a continental tournament were South America and UEFA.
What has to be done is organize a new tournament for the winner of each Confederation to participate in. 6 teams, divided into 2 groups of 3, winners of each group play for the title. Simple and short. If taken seriously (by this I mean if the European representative takes its first team) it could be quite entertaining.
By this reasoning every game of every competition should be replayed at least 3 or 4 times just to make sure the victorious team really is superior and deserves the win.

. The article says that the tournament will have 16 teams and will be held every two years. Blatter said that FIFA chosed Germany because they want to test the World Cup stadiums. The cup starts at 15th July and ends in 28th July...

i'll probably be one of the few fans waiting for this cup to start...I've never seen Toluca play outside of the CONCACAF region, and since we are the CONCACAF champions, its gonna be cool seeing them play other great clubs in some great World Cup stadiums.
