Who's next to take throne at St. James?

Well i for one will be absolutley schocked if souey is still there by Tuesday. He's a useless twat and has Newcastle playing like a bunch of 5 year olds. After todays result at home to Blackburn, he is proababl already cleaning his office

now with that said who do u all think will take the hotseat at newcastle. i know there a couple of names that standout in my mind that r currently on my mind like Lyons ex boss Paul Le Guen or Otmar Hitzfeld. I don't know how Martin O'neil's position stands in whether he wants to get back into managment or not. Then theres the managers already involved with clubs who would be favourite such as Allarydice, Hiddink, O'Leary.

My personal choice depends on what shepard wants, if he wants british it would be allardice hands down but i dunno if he'll leave bolton. if not then i think Martin O'Neil would be good. I really liked the way celtic played when he was there and the enthusiasm he brtought to the players. If shgepard elects foreign, I think Paul Le Guen would be my choice. What he built with Lyon is hands down great. He's young and got plenty of years infront of him

SOUNESS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Newcastle aren't very appealign at the moment , they will probably go with a British manager , not sure who.
Newcastle need to sort out their pitches aswell , that club is a graveyard for any player with pace , I wouldn't be the slightest bit suprised if Owen misses the world cup.

Reet now i don't think Houdini would make much difference.

Sack Sourmess in the summer and give a new manager time to clear the **** out.

Just curious, do you think Robson should of been sacked?

I think Robson had taken us as far as he possibly could. He wasn't helped by circumstances in the dressing room with certain players spitting their dummies out but i was completely shocked at the manner in which he was sacked.

At the end of the day Sir Bobby gave us 4 good seasons and memorable nights in Europe at the likes of the San Siro. That's what he's remembered for and that's why the fans love him even though i think the time had come for him to leave.

With the benefit of hindsight, yes it was time for Sir Bobby to move on but not in that manner.

Is it too early for Shearer to take charge?
Failing that ,i wouldn't let O'Leary near the Toon man.
I know Ranieri is looking for an English club to manage.Newcastle could do a lot worse than him.

I can't see Hitzfeld, Le Guen, Hiddink etc going to become Newcastle Manager, specially because ManUtd (I do believe so), Real Madrid and other top teams will be looking for new managers at the end of the season.

But IMO not only Souness is the Problem, but Shepard aswell.

I really don't understand, I look to Newcastle and I see great players...and they are in the middle of the table. It can only be the coach...Souness come back to Benfica! :jap:

I would love to see Renieri in the job personally.

Johnny_Big - We may have a good team on paper but our biggest players are mostly injured.

Owen, Parker, Emre, Taylor, Carr, Dyer, N’Zogbia to name a few, all injured. Take five key players out of the Chelsea team and they would struggle. With this in mind that’s why Souness hasn’t been sacked yet. However Souness’ coaching techniques have a lot to do with it. Also Souness gets so desperate he brings players back from injury early risking yet more injuries.

you'd be challenging for the EPL with a coach like Mourinho.

Souness is crap, always been, always will be.

Get someone proven like Le Guen or Hitzfeld and even with the injuries I guarantee you at least won't be seeing home defeats to teams like Blackburn.

Don't get me wrong i am NOT a Souness supporter what so ever.

Xifio, you don't think Chelsea would struggle without Lampard, Terry, Makalele, Cech and Duff, that's 5 key players, the backbone of the team.

I think its a cushy job myself. After the trash theyve had to watch for over a year now, millions spent for no results, getting them back to European places would make whoever took the job look like a mastermind.

O'Neill and Ranieri are great shouts, but I think Claudio really f*cked himself with his time in Valencia, and O'Neill might take a boatload of money to sign.

But I guess if youre looking for the right "fit", LeGuien's experience as boss of a Lyon team that, in alot of ways, kinda resemble the squad the toon currently have, might make him the best option. I think George Burley wouldve been a good option.

I tend to agree with toonarmy, though. It would be smarter just to ride this crap out for the season (after firing Souness and appointing an interim boss, of course) and deal with it in the summer. The quality of managers who would take the job will be vastly better if its a summer hire as opposed to a quick fix, and someone more apt for the position might just be let go by another club.

how the hell would Le Guen be a quick fix? He's one of the best managers in Europe. He was in talks with Benfica in the summer and we didn't sign him just because he wanted to bring his medic and fire our medic.. and honestly he would be getting like 100.000£ a month if that much. I bet Newcastle can pay him a lot more, so there is now way he wouldn't be up for the job, unless he already has something signed with Real Madrid or something.

He set up Lyon to be one of the best sides in Europe, after him being gone, that's one thing that Mourinho couldn't do for Porto (although Porto's board selling out the team didn't help).

I honestly don't know who are you waiting to be available in the summer, I'd take Le Guen over someone like Sven in a heartbeat.
