Which player that you have bought for little or no money has done an outstanding job for you? Obviously the term 'little money' will vary slightly depending on club size. I'll get the ball rolling. My best bargain ever has been Adolfo. I have never seen him mentioned here before, but the guy has been awesome! I got him for free (he always is at the start of the game) playing as Plymouth in the third division. For 4 succesive seasons, trained as an attacking midfielder and given a free role just behind the front 2, he scored over 30 goals, had assists in the mid to high twenties, had a season average rating of 8.00 or above. The forth season I was playing in the Premiership, so he is obviously able to play at all levels, at least with a little training. so, does anyone else have an excellent bargain?...

well the player that i gainted the most money from must be Cossinhko (weird name i know ) i bought him for €425k and then sold him for €40 million to Barcelona :mexican:

My best buy was Micheal Carrick. In one of my games he had a dreadful season at West Ham (3rd Season into 01-02) everyone wrote him off, the media, the manager and other players luckily at the end of the season his contract ran out so I snapped him up on a bosman ruling and started playing him at the centre of defensive midfield, every match was at least an 8. After a number of succesful seasons I decided to sell him to Roma for 28m pounds. he was 28 and never played in Roma's first team. (H)

buying Mark Byrnes for £750K, and he goes on to win Oceania Player of the Year twice in a row... and one of my star defenders (Bouma, Samuel, Byrnes, Contra... they're ALL stars (H))

I only been at Uni 3 weeks. I'm sorting out getting a PC at my house let alone a net connection :kader:

I can only come on every so often using the Uni PCs and that thread was wrong. I felt dirty after just reading it :corn:

Hmm...I looked at Carrick a while back, but he seemed to be doing poorly. I may havr to reconsider him. :mrpimp:

Yes Liam, I read all of your post. My A.D.D isn't that bad....now where was I...oh yes, I was just saying in the previous post that Carrack doing so poorly was the reason I passed him over previously, but now I'll have another look, given your suggestion. Pedro Emanuel worked out well also, so thanks for that one. Joao Paiva is my other fav. bargain. Free at the start and an absolute goal machine. :)

P.S - Sleep is for people without Championship Manager anyway.

Kaluzny, on a free for Milwall in the 2nd season, only had one season with me - got me promoted with an av rating of 8.20+

he played 30+, scored about 10 and assisted about 20.
