Who should be the next England boss?

are any of the 1966 WC winners still around? Maybe give the job to one of them? :chew:

Also, I voted for McClaren, bc of the car...

One final Q: Has Sven been taken out the back and shot already or will the FA roll him up in a carpet and throw him off a bridge after the WC?

Of the English managers, I hope to see Big Sam. If not him, then Curby.

For all of the managers, I think Hiddink would be the best choice. He's obviously interested, and has done great things with less than incredible teams. Imagine him with a team with players like Rooney and Gerrard.

No matter who is in charge if the Brit`s media are still more concern with selling papers by causing unrest in the team and bashing the boss at any given chance, then England would never win anything.

Vinnie Jones hehe :funny: aka bullet tooth tony...

What annoys me is:
most so called experts (who may have or not have had a glorius past in football, skillwise or other) talk about - MUST BE ENGLISH

Fact is, there hasn't been a good english manager since a while, so why take a average one - just for the sake of it ?!

Pearce "Consider Foreigner"

Pearce IMO would be the only halfway decent canditate, but he lacks managerial expirience, on the plus side he's got lots of playing one and is one of the few respected managers.

I'd like to see him being an "understudy" from Hiddink, Hitzfeld, Jol and then in 2/4 years take over that post.

No Defensiv-istas
As with all those "Italian managers" Capello and Co - their style does not suit the english game, we can't score and then close down the game with 10 men and 1 a bit further up.

What would you think of Martin Jol as England Manager ?

the fa would be criminally neglegent to give mcclaren the job
Why? Boro are struggling why give him the reigns suddenly?

This is Englands golden generation, dont give it to an above average manager like him, you need someone world class, regardless of nationality it has to be who is the best person for the job. If Hiddink took charge this England side would be almost unbeatable.

English or not......it is not important what his nationality is.He must be the best available in the World. As popular as Big Sam and Curbishley are as people, they are just not good enough to manage the England team. They have both never won a damn thing. The same can be said of McClaren who would be a total disaster for England.Pearce is a ridiculous choice. His first real season as a manager rules him out for at least another 10 years. There just is nobody in this country who is English and good enough.
We will regret it if we allow a narrow minded, nationalistic and insular attitude to influence the choice.Apart from Ramsey,Bobby Robson and Venables,Every other English England manager has been crap.I do not see anyone English in management at the moment, who comes anywhere near being good enough.
Rumours coming out of the FA indicate that the board are most keen on Scolari and Hiddink. If i had to choose between the two i would choose Hiddink. His record is at least consistant.
To be honest i am not sure who i would like as the next England manager, but i sure know who i do not want.
I am relieved that the FA do not consider the nationality of the coach to be important. They are right....it is not important.
