Who recommends FIFA 07? Questions inside

I am considering FIFA 07 for PC, and I would like to ask some questions to some of you owners here.

First of all, does the game take a lot of computer requirement compared to FIFA 2006 World Cup? I've played it on this computer without much problems, so I wonder if FIFA 07 is harder for the computer to play.
My biggest concern when buying a PC game is that it won't run properly on my computer.

And then some gameplay questions.

Does anyone know a place where I can see the player lists for the teams?

Do I see the whole squad when picking out players for a match like in World Cup 2006, or is it like FIFA 2005, where I have to go to a whole option screen to select some players and substitutes to be used for each match?

Is it really possible to create a team from scratch with custom players and all (PC version)? That's pretty awesome if it's true. Then I wonder how the create player option is when it comes to appearance during gameplay, for example if it's possible to create a really small og tall player, or if everyone pretty much looks the same.

If this team creator exists on PC, how's the kit editor? Can I use image files on the computer etc? All colors and fonts can be chosen?


And my last question - what do I gain on *buying* the game exept for not being guilty of piracy? Is there a online mode only for purchased games? I know getting a serial key for the online modes in downloaded games is usually really hard.
So what's the online like mode in FIFA 07?

can't answer all question but here we go....

I don't think that fifa 07 requires much more from your computer, but it's very buggy/laggy for some people no matter what specs they got.

What's your specs?

Next, when you pick players it's like fifa 05 and 06.

You can create your own team with custom players, but I can't answer any of the editing question.

By buying it you're not illegal and you can play online.
I can't answer your question about online because I haven't tried it yet.

Very buggy/laggy no matter what specs? That doesn't really encourage me to buy this game. If there's one thing I hate when playing PC games, it's the game/computer going nuts, with error messages, rebooting, etc. Can anyone confirm this?

If picking out players is like in FIFA 2005 again, it's unbelieveable lame. It was perfect in World Cup, why is it lame now? Going to the squad options menu is a lot of work for each match if you like using a rotation system.

not everyone got that problem, my game was laggy before i changed the some values in ini, but it works for my friend. Only problem on some comps.




well i don't know exactly what you mean but you can change players before a game, select change team(or whatever it's called) before start match. No need to go through all the menus if that is what you mean. Never player world cup.

I recommend fifa 07 if you like arcade football and the other fifas coz they improved the gameplay much this year. Personally I prefer Pes but fifa is fun too.

Looks like the team selection IS improved from FIFA 2005 anyway then. Thank you for the screenshots.

Oh yes, a crack will work on a purchased game too, right? If I don't like using the CD all the time, I can just have a crack instead? It's probably illegal, but at least I've bought the game with all the game files.

I guess I know everything I need to know about the gameplay right now, but I would really appreciate it if anyone could tell me some more about the online mode, and share some experiences.

The online mode will probably make the decision if I'm going to download or buy, so it better be good!

Edit: or would there be other reasons for having the serial key?

The game should run fine on your PC if it ran World Cup 2006. Some .ini tweaks are needed though so let me know if you need them once you have the game, I can help you out.

Not sure where you can see the squads but as far as I know there are only very few players missing for licensing reasons I believe. Also the official patch updates the rosters except for the nordic version of the game (not sure why), but again I can send you the updated rosters file if needed - easy to do.

Yes the whole squad is available before each match in the match menu (like in World Cup 2006).

Yes it is entirely possible to create a team with either your own players or with real players who already exist. The kit is only partially customisable in the game with limited colours and designs. However using 3rd party editors you can create incredibly detailed kits of your own and use those.

I haven't used the online mode but many say it is very good. I also believe that illegal copies of the game may have had problems with the official patches.

Overall highly recommended game with the gameplay much improved since 05 and 06. Career mode is by far the best mode I believe. Also I can recommend Ockham's CEP if you want more leagues and players, particularly smaller leagues around the world, and new competitions such as the UEFA Champions League and World Cup.

Hi, I have a problem with manager mode: it seems that i can't add more than 30 players to my team,when buying or signing players;
how can i add more than 30?

Thanks a lot for the answers. I found the game on half-price, so I decided to go for an original legal version. It'll probably be worth it, since you're mentioning the patches too.

Well, yeah.

If the .ini tweaks are needed to make the game run better, I sure want them! Can they be downloaded from a site? If not, please send me a PM about how to get it.

And one last question - FIFA 07 is about Champions League, right? I bought a Norwegian version which says it includes Tippeligaen (Norwegian league), but it probably contains Premier Leauge and Champions League too?
