Who is the most Irreplaceable player?

In wake of all of these recent injuries, i have dedicated this thread to finding who the most irreplaceable player in the world.

Please note that Irreplaceable is not the same as best, although it might be an important factor to consider in your reponse.

Let me start:

Without doubt, i think that Pavel Nedved is the most irreplaceable player in the world.

Drvar

Starting XI
Nedved for Juventus, surely. Ronaldinho for Barcelona, not as much as last year tho. Other than that, nothing comes to mind at the moment.

nedved, ronaldinho, and roy keane seem to be popular selections. i understand nedved and ronaldinho, but why do u guys think keane is so irreplaceable? he's not a very important contributor to the team?

just because he isn't getting goals doesn't mean that he's not an important contributor. he's the heart of the team, he inspires the team to not sit back and be complacent with what they have won but to keep pressing on to win more. he works hard all the time, has played through injuries many times, and is respected as a leader on the field and in the locker room. really, despite the fact that Giggs, Ronaldo, and Scholes get the attention due to their goalscoring and flashy play, i think Keane is the most impacting player in the midfield.

well, consider this for a moment. if roy keane doesn't assist, doesn’t score, and doesn’t defend, why would it be so difficult to replace him if he gets injured. u could put a rock on the field and it would fill his position (not implying that he’s bad, just using the rock example to embellish). he can encourage the team from the sidelines or in the locker rooms, but on the field he is not irreplaceable.

at United, Keane will be irreplaceable. i'm not lookiing forward to 2006 when he retires.
In Sir Alex Ferguson's current system Keane is playing the holding midfield role(with Fletcher mopping up), and to a great effect. If Fergie sticks to the system he is using now in a couple of years time, then buying a top class holding midfielder should do the trick once the great man hangs up his boots.

Roy Keane will go down as one of the greatest players to ever wear the shirt. Irreplacable? probably a few years ago, but now seeing him converted to a holding midfielder, I'm not sure. Bryan Robson(better player) was supposed to of been irreplacable.
