Who is the more complete player?

MisH*The*Manc

Me and a mate are having a discussion as to who is the more complete player out of Silvestre and Campbell. As you guessed he's an Arsenal fan and I'm a Man United fan so both our views are naturally biased. So please could you just spare a minute to vote and give opinions on what you think. Thanks.

IMO Campbell. He looks more solid and is more reliabla, and has a lot of experience (national + internationa) behind him.

well when Campbell does such stupid things as try and header a ball a foot off the ground i sometimes wonder. Silvestre is quicker but Campbell is tougher. But Silvestre gives you the option of breaking attacks. So it's kind of a tought choice, but defensively I reckon Campbell edges it on experience.

In my opinion Silvestre is a full back and Campbell a centre back and thus should not be compared, even if they're not played that way always.

Yeah wasnt Silvestre on his way to Anfield before Alex Faggotson came in a hi-Carlos*ed the deal at the last minute? Anyway i wont vote. Hate both players :)

I think Campbell, purely based on the fact that he has much more experience than Silvestre. I don't really like either player though(H)

Silvestre is probably a more complete player because he can play in Full Back and Center Back but Campbell is much better and more valuable

I'd say Silvestre, this is not a bias decision.

At Centre-back for England I would choose Sol Campbell + Rio over anyone else anyday.

Silvestre on his best of days can do anything at the back, he can play Centre-Back, Full Back, Wing-Back. Can do alot on the wing, can cross, can score, has a good head for clearing and scoring goals. He is a vital player at the back of Uniteds team, and alot younger, only 26.

looks like you got the word mistaken, what you and your friend were discussing about was who has the ****tiest

i think silvestre is the more complete player of the two in the sense of the word, "complete," but i would rather have campbell on my team.

Silvestre is more complete, kind of like Toure being able to play anywhere at the back (except Kolo can play any outfield position).

Campbell is better at CB, but silvestre is more complete.

Sivestre is better in the sense that he can go forward and create attacks. Campbell is better as a defender as he is more solid.

That's a tough question. From a biased viewpoint I'd say Silvestre, but both are very close. Silvestre is obviously better at going forward and creating attacking moves and has been something of a revelation in the center of defense alongside Rio. He seems comfortable on the ball (most of the time - I've seen him hesitate too long occasionally), can deliver telling crosses and get on the end of corners to some effect. Pace wise, he's a match for many. It seems to me that Thierry Henry is more subdued when Mikael is in the center of United's defense, so that has to say something.

Campbell on the other hand is an out-and-out defender. He's solid in the center of Arsenal's defense and you feel that when he is out, their defense is considerably weaker because of it. He's good in the air and has a fine positional sense. He also has the ability, from a forward threat point of view, to get on the end of corners.

As far as a complete player goes I'd have to say Silvestre because he offers more when he's on the ball than Sol, although Sol is more of a physical presence at the back. But, Mikael has proved that he's no slouch when it comes to defending neither.

Tough one. IMO Silvestre always looks a bit clumsy, but somehow manages to do well. Campbell is a solid defender but he hasn't been that great recently... So all in all, I wouldn't know.

I honestly think that these two could not be compared.. Silvestre plays more on the left while Sol is a central defender.. I dont know mate.. But there's always Nesta to win these kinda votes for Milan :rockman:
