Lennart Johansson gave comments this week that made it seem like there are only two likely candidates the Nordic bid & Austria/Switzerland.

Germany will host the 2006 world cup & as it's close to SWI/AUS I think the Nordic bid will win !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!




The World Cup has been in America for example & the distances are much longer than in Scandinavia. Nordic cities are very close to each other. For example Helsinki is about 40 mins. from STHLM by plane. Other Finnish cities are even closer.

i hope they will get the euro 08 so i can see the world cup 06 and the euro 08 live in a stadium

I think the Nordic & SWI/AUS bids have the best chances to win.....

The Nordic bid has no chance of winning !!!
There is no way Uefa can justify giving 4 automatic places to the host countries.
No matter how good the Nordic bid is ... it must not win !!!
I have nothing against Scandinavia by the way ... 2 countries would be fine but 4 is taking the piss.

No, only two teams can play. The two that go through will be decided by a tournament between Finland, Sweden, Denmark & Norway...

The countries are close to each other. If the U.S. which has distances that are 10 times larger than Scandinavia can host the World Cup then we can surely host Euro 2008!

The plans to develop the Ratina stadium in Tampere will be put into action if the Nordic bid wins.

The Ratina is a historic stadium which has hosted olympic soccer matches back in the day...

I think that the Ratina will become a very nice stadium & it will take about 35,000 people after development. The stadium will be totally reconstructed for UEFA Euro 2008 à la Nordic.
