Now does the choice of captain actually make a damned bit of difference? I think it would be interesting if certain players in the game had a "leadership" quality, perhaps derived from years of experience and high performance. If you gave the captaincy of your team over to one of these players, it would raise the form of the team as a whole. I'd like to see the captain's armband as a strategic element, rather than just a cosmetic one.
