Who are the best young defenders in the world?

Who are the top young defenders and defensive midfielders in the world and who do you see being interested in any of them? One of the only ones I'm very familiar with is Alex from Santos, but I am sure there are tons more.

Madrid needs a good young central defender badly. :(

- Gerardo Torrado is a good, young Defensive Mid IMO. Too bad Sevilla has treated him like crap. :kader:

Mexès is the best considering the age he's only 20 I think.

One of the best young Def. Mid. in the world right now is Tiago from Benfica... 20 years old and just class, scores a lot of goals also.

Plays for the Chicago Fire and is a US National Team starter at central defense since this year. Lots of European teams interested in him.

Matteo Ferrari on the other hand is class as is Chivu. (Chivu is a year older)
