unexpensive is a relative word in different countries
GeForce 4 Ti 4200 for $40-50 ??? Where is that magic place? in Poland it cost about $130 ....

I said $40-50 cheaper THEN radeon 9600-9500
not buy it for $40-50

And dont get a GeforceFX 5200, they are a POS

no johny fx5200 is not a good card,u will have slo mo for sure cause its the earliest version of FX cards. My mate has FX5600 and he gets major slowdowns and his computer crashes everytime he plays a game due to overheating,only way u can fix that problem is by getting a pladecooler. A FX5600 ultra and higher would be great for pro evo 3.

the ti4 card are directx8, the radeon 9500+ are directx9 and will perform better with newer games, and so may be worth the extra.
I thought the 9500 was about £75ish

I am telling you people, the CHEAPEST, DECENT card for PES3 is Geforce 4 Ti 4200 end of story.
Radeon 9500-9600 is faster and better but MORE expensive. Personally I wouldent mess with any of the FX cards, they all have thier problems and anything besides the 5200 costs more then a GF4 Ti 4200.

So it comes down to 3 paths you should take:

Do I want cheapest, decent performer for PES3?
= GeForce 4 Ti 4200

Do I want good performer for PES3 and a bit of staying power in future games and have a fair bit of $$ to spend?
= Radeon 9600-9500

Do I have an @ssload of $$ and want the best?
=Radeon 9800XT

I have the FX5600 and I get slowdowns only near pk boxes.. thats pretty annoying tho.

I agree: ti4200 is good and not too expensive. I don't know howmuch 50 pound is (I don't even have a pound-sign at my keyboard, why don't you British use €'s, like all Europeans do ), but in Holland I paid €145 for the ti4200.

In the same level , RADEON cards is cheaper than NVIDIA. But, if u the issue is compatibility use NViDIA, for performance (again, in same level) use Radeon, cause they r more open to overclocking material. For example, early prod of 9500 can become 9700 becuz' the difference is only in core mem and pipelining tunnel, open the 4 pipeline on 9500 and u become 9700.

the complexity of animation and texture in this game is not as complex as MaxPayne2 or Call of Duty that play well in most card, the problem is in other setting of your HW, so it is SUPPOSEDLY play well in any cards, they just don't know how to programed it well on PC.

Ti4200 is GREAT enuff for this eventhough I play it WELL on Mx420,slowdon on Penalty box only hit 2-3 fps, a play it overall in 58-61 fps with RAIN on.
