Which FIFA has had the most Hype

Which FIFA has had the most hype,
like the most build up to it?
or is the game just always ment to be the best football game in the world?

FIFA 98 was one of the best footy game of all time. It stood on the same class or maybe even higher than WE 3 that time. The game on PSX was fantastic with lots of different top and rest of the world teams. The cut scene and the movies are top notch for those days standards, probably even today. It got so many unique features, such as callin` players to NT, etc. Gameplay and ball physics was even a lot better than FIFA 2003, the ball bounces realistically. The followin` anticipation for FIFA 99, but pity was high, as we all know, FIFA has been pure **** since that . . .

FIfa 98 road to the world cup or FIFA98 WORLD CUP?? which one was better cuz im thinking of buying one but i think i will probably buy world cup cuz i think it had ball curve. Well which one you guys think its the best one?

By far the RTWC 98 version is better as it has more options. The only difference is that the World Cup 98 version has the stadiums and such, but the RTWC 98 you can still take your team to the top and win the World Cup.

I agree that FIFA 98 was by far the best football game that EA have produced. It had the features that today's FIFA games don't bother with and they're so sorely missed by the gamers that have been neglected over the years. And hey you missed out INDOOR MODE

FIFA 99 was good but some areas weren't as good as 98, such as the ball physics and the rather crappy editor... but it's been all downhill since then.

The most hyped up FIFA game for me has got to be 2003... they were all bragging it up to be the best FIFA game ever and went overboard with all this talk of total control, only for the whole thing to be one complete case of propaganda, with crap gameplay and atrocious AI.

In a nutshell it made the horrendous FIFA 97's gameplay so good

FIFA 98 is my choice for best FIFA too. It had such a wide range of teams and was just so playable

I'd have to say FIFA 2002 has been the most hyped fifa game. All the talk about "new awesome passing system" and all this other bull****. Turned out to be the biggest disappointment.

FIFA 2004 is definitely the most hyped now... all that talk and look what happened!

FIFA 2002 was hyped up a lot by EA's advertising campaigns... the game was poor because of really bad shooting and passing, though thankfully many of us were able to make good gameplay patches to make it a lot more enjoyable.
