First, it was Manuel José who decided not to renew his contract, since he'll be our next NT coach, a decision that I'm not too happy about.
As far as I'm concerned, he won everything there was to win, right? Look, winning a friendly means nothing. When José came back to Portugal, he gave this interview on TV and, among many things, explained how they beat Real Madrid. Honestly, judging by Real's attitude towards that game and the time between their arrival at the airport and the game itself, I think my FC Infesta would have won that game too.
I'm not taking credit away from Ahly, it's just that a friendly match is a... friendly match. You can't make judges of value based on those games...
Manuel José also talked about how primitive African football still is, and that there's a long, long way to go before it reaches the European levels. You have the talent, but lack the organization power, the facilities, the background, etc.
But answering the initial question, I don't see why there shouldn't be, at least, a couple African teams in the game.
Should Ahly join the England League to make the judge on it !!
I think that you are professionals and play freindlies such as you play officials... AS Roma before the game said that...so real madrid did last year!
I am agree with him... But I said before... Ahly is considered a professional teams and most good africans join Ahly hoping that the next step would be in eaurope... Generally... Egypt and Morocco doesn't belong to the African football... their style are very different and we have a lot of problems with them as they have no organizations... that made Manuel say his words .. ... hel couldn't win the dawry (league)and I am very sure that he left ahly before he take charge of your national team... Ahly officials told papers of that before the league ends by two weeks for his lose against a weak African team

Maybe I have Al-Ahly mixed up with another club, but didn't they fail miserably in that Fifa World Club Championship they held a few years ago?
