Ooooh..don't go bagging Kriss Kross..I love that song 'Jump' - no BS..;)

Right now I've gone onto a silverchair kick, I'm really getting into their new album after ignoring it for a while. As for singles, 'Courtney' by Nerf Herder (featuring the classic line 'Hope I'm not out of place, but/ Courtney Love - sit on my face'), 'Cochise' by Audioslave, an acoustic mix of 'Romeo' by Basement Jaxx and a crazy song featuring samples from the Willy Wonka movie called 'There's a Better Place' by Crazy Pénis.

OK, lets have an Audioslave debate!

As some of you already know, Audioslave are Rage Agaisnt The Machine minus their original singer, one of the best musical combos ever, plus Soundgarden's ex-vocalist and guitarist, who is surely in the top 5 most talented voices in rock. Well, that must make Audioslave the best band around, right? Wrong. :(
Imho, Cornell's voice is totally unappropriate fo that genre, doesn't mix with the soundtrack at all, and his lyrics miss that subversive twist Zack's had. On top of that, the music itself isn't anything new or that we hadn't heard a million times in other RATM albums. :(

No debate required - having heard more of the album, I'd tend to agree. I did get into this song, though. And I never really was that big a Soundgarden fan, so it didn't really faze me when I saw the two coming together. But whoever was to replace Zack would obviously have a helluva job..

yeah, I agree with your statements Hugo. Chris Cornell admits he isn't into the whole political thing in the same way as de la rocha, so it doesn't quite sit right.

he has an amazing voice though, he suited Temple of the Dog stuff with Eddie Vedder of Pearl jam. As for Soundgarden, I just love Jesus Christ Pose.

As a just started guitarist, I'm listening to new bands all the time. From the Nirvana genre I went to Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun and dloaded there Superunknown album. I can't say I really like it but I like Chris' voice. From Chris Cornell and Soundgarden I heard about Audioslave. I just downloaded some stuff of them, but again I don't like it. It just doesn't sound good to me. I never really liked RATM, I'm not into those funky influences, so again this project Audioslave doesn't really suit me.

I bet you can't name 2 Black Crowes songs without looking it up.

I don;t get what the hype is about "lucy is the sky with diamonds" All these people at my school suddenly love this song. It's a good song, but the Black Crowes are a great band and there are tons better songs.

Oh and if you actually like the Black Crowes, then my bad, and keep on rocking.......

The Black Crowes are wicked. Saw them live a few years ago and they really rocked. :rockman:

I think my favourite song that they have done is either She Gave Good Sunflower or Wiser Time. Amorica is one of my favourite albums, but their version of Hard To Handle is excellent. :rockman:

yeah they were pretty good live except there was this guy in front of us who was so out of it, after about half an hour of swaying he turned around and puked over one of my mates, then collapsed in a heap :f***:
