Whats wrong with Online Matchup?

My online matchup thingy doesn't seem to work, and I don't know why.

When I put in my EA username and password, it loads for about 3 seconds then says 'Sorry we cannot process your request at this time. Please try later'. It does the same thing 'later'. Anyone have this problem or know how to fix it?

I got the same thing....u have to register your serial number within the game as well!!!!! try that...

Cheers mate, but now I have another weird problem!

When I put in my registration code, it says it is not valid! I DO NOT have a pirate / copy whatever it is of the game. The code worked fine (obviously) when it asked for it while installing the game, so whats going on?!?

mmm...not sure whats going on there....

Trying deinstalling the game, reboot and then reinstall the game....

maybe someone else can offer something better (sorry)

I know how frustrated you must feel, I'm in the USA and it took a good 1-2 weeks before online matchup started to work for me.

My guess is that they only opened it up early for certain regions (probably european and south american) upon game launch, then eventually incorporated the overseas logins.

Anyway one thing to make sure on the cdkey entry is to make sure you aren't entering it incorrectly. Invoke regedit in your start/run prompt and look for your correctly entered key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Sports\FIFA 2003\ergc

you will then be able to double click on the name (Default) and copy/paste the data shown (DO NOT ACCIDENTALLY CHANGE THIS VALUE). I've noticed that most ea sport keys use 5's and S's, and U's and V's extensively, which makes for easy entry errors depending on your interpretation of the font they use on the jewel case, or how you have written it down.

As long as your cdkey is unique, the online matchup should accept it. IF your key isn't unique, you will instantly know this because you will get a different error stating something like "this cdkey may already be in use" or something of the sort.

I also have the same problems the last days. System error, please try again later (99) It was working well before, I connected a gamepad and ...nothing anymore. Any solutions yet?

i sent EA support centre an email about this problem and they never replied. ive got the name and number problem as well, sometimes i wonder why i even bothered buyin this game.

Hi Chael,

Thanks for your detailed post mate. I've got into the 'default' file you were talking about, but there's no value in there. Shoudl my registration key be in there? Cos it's not, but should I put in there myself?
