What's the most memorable goal the club you support ever scored?

2000/2001

Boavista 1-0 Sporting, 3 weeks left to the end of the season

Martelinho gets a bouncy ball outside the area and without looking decides to bang it on goal. Schmeichel was off his line and Martelinho scored a beautiful goal, which turned out to be the most important goal of the season, considering that in that match we got 4 points over Porto and Sporting and became champions 2 weeks later... for the first and only time so far in history!!! Aw, man, I was so happy back then (H)

Both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's and Teddy Sheringham's goals in ECL Final against Bayern Munich.

Oh, and of course Giggsy's against Arse.

Wow...so many to choose. But I would have to choose two...only this time. :P

Benfica vs. Sporting 1/8 Cup - 2-2 in extra time, Sporting with 10 players. Paíto, left defender, tackles, gets the balls, dribbles all the way, in the other half he dribbled a player. Gets into the box, against Luisao, central defender of 1,92m...does an amazing nutmeg, and shoots into the net. What a goal...I pratically wet myself, as Tom said before. Sadly we lost it in penalties, but we were clearly robbed in this game. But that goal was just...amazing...

Az Alkmaar vs. Sporting semi-final 2nd leg 2004/2005 - Also remember as it was yesterday...but this one is clearly more memorable. 4-3 on agg, last chance of goal is a corner. If we score, we would pass by the goals scored in Holland...it was 3-1, first leg got 2-1 for us. Everyone there, including the GK Ricardo. Ball goes into the first post, 3 players of Sporting are there, one of them was Ricardo. Ricardo movement was amazing, because he blocked 2 defenders on the way...Miguel Garcia was there to put the ball in the net. 3-2, we passed. I remember myself of wanting to yell goal, but I couldn't...that game was so emotional, I confess it was the only game I cried in my entire life (except Portugal vs. England Euro 2004 :D).

Costinha's last minutes equaliser against ManU the year we won the CL, I almost fell off a 5th floor whilst celebrating :rockman:

Derlei's decisive goal against Celtic to clinch the UEFA Cup is a moment I'll never forget too, it made me cry like a little baby :lui:

Two moments in which I supported other team than mine, because of an only reason. I am portuguese. In Costinha's goal, I was locked in the room, looking to the radio, with the TV behind me...when Porto scored I yelled a lot. My mom, that is also from Sporting, came to celebrate with me.

I am portuguese, first of all.

For significance, it has to be Gronkjaer's winner in the dying minutes against Liverpool. That goal redressed the landscape of the English game.

But if we're talking about a memorable moment, then its DiMatteo's winner in the last FA final held in Wembley (which I did not see) or Wayne Bridge in the 86th minute at highbury (which I did have the good fortune to see)

That goal, and Costinhas against Man Utd, which meant Mourinho would go on to win the CL, then take over Chelsea and the landscape would be altered further. :rockman:

Oh and Lampards double against Bolton

God yes. The image of him being latched onto by Montella, brushing him off and slotting home only for the whole team to mob him is burned into my mind.

They might be referring strictly to pure technical ability, though, in which case there can only be one answer, now and forever...

by the way, we mightve won it under Claudio eventually...right? :(
