What's the difference between CM 4 and CM 03/04?

What is the difference between Championship Manager 4 and Championship Manager 03/04?

Which one should I buy?

The last game I bought was Championship Manager 01/02.

I heard that the new CM 03/04 doesn't contain MLS or the USMNT - is this accurate?

Does CM 4 contain MLS and the USMNT?

If someone could clarify the matter for me it'd be appreciated.

There's no MLS in CM0304, if you want that go for CM4.

If you don't care about updated rosters (and you can download good ones) and you download EP5 you have a good plaable game. But CM0304 seems to be much more addicting as CM4. It's really what you prefer

Is it possible to buy American players in CM 03/04? Or are only the Americans on European clubs included?

For example, I'd like to manage a 1st Div. English club and buy DaMarcus Beasley and Carlos Bocanegra - is that possible? Is there a decent editor to create players? The editor in CM 01/02 was a pain in the arse.

Just wondering, I figure you folks would know best.

The American players NOT playing in the MLS are included.:) I don't know where Beasly and Bocanegra play, but I guess you can figure out now. There will be an editor, so you can change players (the useless ones in example) to create the MLS players. BTW ask Ruud, he will know more

They play for the Chicago Fire.

With the editor, included in the 03/04 game, you will be capable of adding new players to the database, as well as creating new teams (like the Fire), but you will very likely not be able to create a US league for them to play in.

the main difference for me is that cm03/04 is playabe and addictive and cm4 wasnt cos it had too many silly little bugs.

Thanks for the information guys. I would just need to set up a basic league for MLS - a straight table of the 10 clubs, no cup matches or anything like that.

It's a bit of a hassle to buy a copy in the U.S. so I wanted to make an "informed" decision beforehand.

If there are no players from MLS, then there is probably no USMNT, right?

Is it possible to create a national team and enter them into the proper regional tournaments? There still is a CONCACAF Gold Cup in the game, right?

US national team IS in the game, just doesn't feature any MLS/lower US league players.

--> Created US players will get selected for it.

Ther are plenty of American teams and players on the database, some are really great! A number or Strikers and wingers have been picked up by large clubs like Auxerre in my game. I dunno if they are real players because i dont know the league well enough. Adu is in the game however.
