Is it a bird, is it a plane... nooooo its the SUN!!... its abt as close as the moon is to the earth and closing in fast... we're all DOOMED!!! ..
heh... can't help a dramatic intro
The real issue that I wanted help on is that I have a pretty avg pc ( Duron 800 O/C to 1G, Geforce 4MX O/C to 275/500 Mhz, 256 MB 266 Mhz DDR ), and I just turned on anti-aliasing 2x, anistropic filtering and texture sharpening to see how it looks. This is in addition to my normal settings of:
1024x768x16 and full detail
I was pleasantly surprised when the frame rate didn't ever drop below 30 fps on my normal camera (action), and went around 25 when the camera is encapsulating the crowd as well (on throw ins and stuff! pretty playable.
However, when the sun comes into the frame, we're talking about 10 fps... or so... these fps dont' bother me for the few seconds of the goal kick or throw in, but makes scoring from free kicks absolutely impossible (since its impossible to stop the power meter on time, due to bad frame rates)
Is there any way... to fix this?? EA MUST do something abt this, they've done a great job on the performace if a system like mine can be playable 99% of the time at those settings (which look gorgeous btw), but the free kick situation makes it impossible to play at these settings (alas i can't change settings on the fly, in which case I would have switched down, for the free kick, then return them back afterwards!). It seems really sad, that such a great thing gets pulled down by such a small issue.
Any suggestions?
