Why does the German NT consist of all generated players? I don't have this with any other national team. Is it a bug?

It's even more annoying when a bunch of generic names beat Holland in the 2006 World Cup :sb9: :s***:

No, it's not a bug. The German national team can't use real player names in FM due to licensing issues.

Luckily SI have made it quite easy to turn this off:
In the file "..\Football Manager 2005\data\db\lnc\all\fake.lnc", which you can open with notepad, you need to change a line. Originally it will look like this:

Code:
# "FAKE_NATIONAL_TEAM"	"Nation Unique ID"	"1/0 - On/Off"
# "CHANGE_PLAYER_NAME"	"Person Unique ID"	"First Name" "Common Name" "Second Name"

#Germany
"FAKE_NATIONAL_TEAM"	771	[b][color=red]1[/color][/b]

#Holland
"FAKE_NATIONAL_TEAM"	784	0

#player name changes
"CHANGE_PLAYER_NAME"	1277	[b][color=red]"Jens"	"" "Mustermann"[/color][/b]

and you need to change that to:

Code:
# "FAKE_NATIONAL_TEAM"	"Nation Unique ID"	"1/0 - On/Off"
# "CHANGE_PLAYER_NAME"	"Person Unique ID"	"First Name" "Common Name" "Second Name"

#Germany
"FAKE_NATIONAL_TEAM"	771	[b][color=green]0[/color][/b]

#Holland
"FAKE_NATIONAL_TEAM"	784	0

#player name changes
"CHANGE_PLAYER_NAME"	1277	[b][color=green]"Oliver"	"" "Kahn"[/color][/b]
.

Now - when you start a new game, it doesn't help for already running games - the German national team will be normal again, and Oliver Kahn will have his own name back.
