I think that would be realistic...for example many managers sign players with big potential who never live up to it......and other players with less potential become better.
It works in career mode in NHL 2004 with a 20 year career...sometimes players with low potential become your best player and players with high potential never become good, just like in life.....but you know the potential, you just don't know if they will use it......
