What players with mediocre stats have played awesome for you?

While thinking of players with great stats that have been disappointing for me to write about at AFumacas' thread, I got to thinking about the average players that have been fantastic for me. My choice has to be Cygan. The guy's got very ordinary stats but plays like a star for me. Rui Jorge from Portugal also fits into this category for me.

Marcelo Gallardo..he is a backup in my international league but when in he has scored 3 goals and makes plays. He has and will continue to start games.

Landon Donovan : 135 points per season
he's cheap, quick and got a powerful shot.
this guy has scored so many vital goals , one that comes to mind was the last minute winner against Newcastle that clinched promotion from Div 3 to Div 2 on ML extreme.

Diatta (Senegal) : great defender. I have signed this player in my last three teams in ML.

Hypia... seriously the guy is awesome at defending, hes tall, strong and much much better than his stats show.
Another is Olembe, a great left winger better than his stats show.

Anywho... Donovan has been the most notable. Also Aghahowa from Nigeria (sorry about spelling). Have done great for me in the past.

Vorlander from the original ML team you start out with.

He's the only player I kept. He's fantastic in the middle of your defense and on corners (offensive and defensive). I often use him as a sub for my middle two defenders, and occationally as a starter when Blanc is tired.

of course i know who Del Piero & Figo are. i been watching them since i was... little.

it's just that ppl complain that Del Piero, in we6i, is too slow and sucks at dribblin and stuff - and i'm just sayin that it don't seem that way to me. when i first bought i was a bit skeptical, i thought he was gonna suck, gon' be too slow and not score a lot but he really turned out the other way around -> fantasic.

He is solid as hell as my centre back. Despite his lack of speed he uses his body perfectly and is great at dis-possessing the opposition of the ball.

Karmov for way way way way cheap makes a good back as well. He's slow and not at all spectacular but he is very solid.

Thank you, akvelocity365. I thought I misspelled mediocre and people were reading it as MEGASTAR...

Stam...come on bro...his body balance is 95 and his response is 88. At 191cm, he still has an 88 jump and an 89 head accuracy. Combined with his body balance, it's damn near impossible to win a header against this man. MEDIOCRE is supposed to be the key word.

I definitely agree with Decado about Vorlander. He's probably the only default ML player that doesn't completely suck.

Been playing on Xtreme difficulty, so have had to use alot of "mediocre" players while I'm going up through the divisions.

Until Dario Silva replaced him, Panov (166cm dude) was playing brilliant as a small fast striker, in tandem with Bobic.

Foe has been my "poor man's Vieira", anchoring the central midfield, and Ziege has been a revelation at left back.

Other players who have performed above expectations for me have been Jurcic, Jorgenson, Galic, and Rehmer.

A. Mokoena is a great wing-back, Rui Jorge as well. Ebbe Sand (Denmark) is a great striker, and Stecklenburg (Dutch) is one hell of a goalkeeper.

Yep, Vortlander can hang...he's down Man, I cant say what VOLENSEIRRA did for me.....even had to capitalise his name....'nuff respect.....ULISES from Ecuador is rock solid....Now when I first started Xtreme Div 3, I tried Sherringham out....>>>>Bad idea! At least, he sucked for me ....didnt quite do his job...

Eddington was a good default ML player. He was one of the last ones to get kicked out the team.
