I have to say that..
Djorkeff and Ballack have been my biggest dissapointments...
Djorkaeff i usually paly has a 3 fwd/set up man. And Ballack i usually play omf/smf and he doesn't do all that well for me..
However a plesant surprise was. Alexandersson(swe)SMF he really has done great things for me.

Here's my ML line up.
starter/sub
Chilavert/ al sayed
frechaut(f meira)
Onopko(edmilson)
song(rui jorge)
olisabe(toefting)
alexandersson(matt)
bangabida(simao)
chiesa(djorkaeff)
klose(troare)
leandro( morfeo)

I find Beckham's lack of speed to be a big problem. He has great stats (and is very expensive), but it is tough to get him open so he can cross.

Yeah edit his spped 3-5 points. He is good and he is not that slow..I would have to say Veron...lack of plays for Argentina so far.

I've actually had good experiences with Veron and Ballack, but I also find Becks to be more of a hinderence than anything else when he was on my ML team. I signed him for a few years and ended up getting rid of him at the first offer I got from the computer. Larsson was also a big disappoinment for me. He has great stats but I just couldn't get the guy to gel with the rest of team.

The first time I signed Rivaldo, he had 3 goals and 3 assists all season for 3 seasons. So he was a major disappointment.
But the next time I got him, he was great.

I've signed Ballack twice and he's been stangely subdued at times.

Beckham, same problem, slow and not so good dribling. I tend to use Giggs to build attack more often when I play with Man U . . .

Don't edit Becks - just think about it, just think about the way he plays in REAL life - he isn't blazingly fast. He isn't that fast at all, he doesn't have the dribbling skills of Figo either - but what he does have is a KILLER right foot and that's simulated perfectly.

The key to using Beckham succesfully, like in real life, for England or for you club team is not to tear down the wing with him trying to outrun Roberto Carlos and dribble past three players but work the ball around and give him just a bit of space to work into and he can deliver incredible crosses. Heading success rate (at least on target) with Beckham crosses in PES2/WE6:I is incredibly high, he can also spray some brilliant crossfield balls (diagonal) from the right wing position.

I need not say a word about set pieces.

That's why Winning Eleven is so amazing - in Fifa they would just make Beckham fast because that's how you differentiate between good and bad. But in WE, like in real life, it's his control, vision and long passing ability (and passing speed) which are the keys to his success.

Just me $0.02.

I've always had good experiences with Ballack - he's very solid as a DMC.

Where do you cross from? Ususally I like to cross once I get past the penalty box (on either side). I haven't had much luck crossing from beyond that, but I noticed while watching a game today that Beckham does that...he gets a great curve that make it like he's crossing from the right side of the penalty bock. How do you get him to curve his crosses?

I'll still probably edit him a tad (2 or 3 points)...he is still a pretty good dribbler and has decent speed.

BTW, what stat handles ball control? Receiving passes--particularly airial ones.

NUETRAL, buddy, ya know what your talkin bout! That IS how Beck plays-----just gets a little space for the cross>>>DO TELL US WHERE YOU CROSS FROM>> Not for me as I dont use Becks.....But if anyone has SOLID advice as far as using and where to use the EARLY CROSS...It works sometimes but I'm sure there one of use who uses it regularly and I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM THEM!:D

Kluivert has been rather dissapointing for me... In my club team he never scores header goals. If he does get his head to them he blasts them inaccurately past the goals :( Occassionally he rips some good fast shots off his feet, but at times he takes aggggges to shoot. He isn't very good on the dribbling either. When I play with him as Netherlands he tends to step up though......

Jimmy Floyd gets off cracker shots for me, BUT he doesn't score very often, despite his awesome shooting stats. He too frequently pushes it high, or wide... or straight at the keeper.

For one change the long pass setting to manual rather than automatic (I don't know what the number is) - where do I cross from? Usually depends upon what's going on in the box - I mean are guys open, who's open, who's marking them etc - but if you want whipped in crosses with Becks I'd pass BEFORE you get to be parallel to the penalty area (from a bit further out you can also cross using L1+Circle).

Also gotta reiterate about the long crossfield balls - the opposite wing attack plus a good diagonal early ball (use the analog for precision long passing) and you can cut a defense open.

Beckham's stats are perfect. Beside his crosses and few good free-kicks, he dont have any other remarkable skills.

I've been playing Portugal and Nuno Gomes has been fantastic for me playing with two fowards with Pauletta right Behind Nuno, but for some reason Nuno always seeks out the pass and open play which is great for how I approach the box

I've played a few custom cups/games as Real Madrid and I have to say that Figo is invisible most of the time. He did score a great goal for me in one game, but has been completely useless other than that. I usually end up subbing him out in the second half.

Also when I play as Newcastle, Shearer never seems to get on track. In fact, I think I have yet to score a goal with Allan when playing as the Magpies. It's Bellamy that scores most of the goals, with Robert chipping in a few as well. But Shearer is nowhere to be found.

the trick is not to change a players attributes but to nicely fit him into the way you play. if you funnel your game through the middle, then your smf will be invisible the whole game especially the one on the bottom of the screen( the one you can't see.
when you have becks on your team you have to keep in mind you want to funnel the game towards the right...you don't want him to make mad dashes from behind the mid line to the corner flag and execute a perfect cross.. instead you should try to pull his marker and hit him on the overlap.. into isolation.... of course it helps when you have someone who can get up to head the ball in the heart of the box.
So when a player is not doing anything for you, yet he has tremendous stats, see how that player can fit in the way you play.

Good tip, Afumacas. I figured it was probably my (lack of) playing style that resulted in the "invisible superstar" phenomenon. I only got the game last week, so I'm still learning the ins and outs of it all. It's been a source of both delight and frustration for me so far, though far more delight. I'm still used to FIFA where you can just dribble through the entire defense without passing it off. But after playing this game, I have to say this one is much more realistic and therefore more enjoyable. There's not much fun in taking your keeper on a Rene Higuita run through the entire opposing team.

well for me it would have to be Aldair and Nakata. I use Roma in my ML on normal and had them once or twice and neither was very good for me.
