What makes you dislike another football club?

I agree. I'm from the few Man Utd fans that like Liverpool but people tend to think that since you're a Manchester United fan you should "automatically" hate Liverpool and vice versa. I tend to believe that many just pretend they hate them because they believe that they HAVE to hate them.

our fans have always been like that, throughout our history and thats how we have managed to achieve great things because if u dont give a 100% they will boo.

its all about the high standards, but i dont excpect you to understand that as you are a chelsea fan.

if you saw sundays match against getafe we were loosing but the crowd still gave us support because we were playing well and giving it our all, they dont boo because we are loosing they boo when we are not giving it a 100%.

Actually i did watch the Gatafe match and they did BOO u airhead, Gatafe were in control and you could hear the fans boo . Every Madrid game ive seen, with just one mistake thiers a boo. Some of us feel great satisfaction when a club that we hate loses. There are many reasons that make a person dislike another club like fierce rivalry in the league, the club being full of cheating players or divers, or perhaps jealousy from the club's successes.
For me, one other primary reason that makes me hate another club is the sudden flood of glory hunters that are suddenly all over the place when a club starts winning silverware and signing big names. They're unbearable, I see them everyday

Sometimes there's no reason; in Italy I support Roma and don't like Lazio, but I've respect for them; so in Germany I'm for Bayern and in Scotland for Celtic, but I respect all the teams around the world, it is football, no war, the only exception could be Glasgow rangers, but for other reason out of football. But "hate" is a word too strong for me.....

But I've never hated my rivals...ever.
The reason why the derby game is so important is because
1) They are the main threat to take the title away from you (IE: Like Celtic/Rangers ....River/Boca....Nacional/Penarol.......Inter Milan/Milan etc.)
2) Amazing history between them, making the game special.


Like I DO hate some teams out of MY own history with them.....but never hated my rival cause i was "told to".

The only reason you might see hate is because it's a local derby (any american/non traditional Man U fan who "hates" Liverpool, is just odd to me). IE: A Man City kid growing up in Manchester would be subject to constant "glory hunting" and jokes against his team from Man U fans..................so developing an extreme dislike to that team is not uncommon.

But I cant understand when you have a guy who grew up in Australia/Canada/USA sitting on his PC saying hell kill a rival fan if he sees him.

The reasons why I hate Dinamo Bucharest:
1 - their extreme cockiness even though they haven't achieved 50% of what Steaua has
2 - the fact that there are seasons when they are a better team than us (like this year) and they don't stop at anything to make themselves seem like total assholes which takes any respect that I had for them in the first place
3 - the history of the rivalry
4 - the combination of red and white which sickens me
5 - their fans

I could go on and on but for every rival/team that I hate it is usually a combination of those things.

The fact that they pay off refs to give penalties for dives, weak red cards caused by unpunished dives, turn a blind eye to what can only be described as thuggery on behalf of their players and basically have the officials hand games to them on a platter within 20 minutes.
