ENGLISH:
PS2 - PES5
PC - PES5

NORTH AMERICA
PS2 - WE9:I (Released Late Spring 2006 - Same as PES5)
PC - WE9:I (Released Late Spring 2006 - Same as PES5)

The most advanced version is the Japanese version, WE9:JL which fixes the loss of crowd bug and has improved animations, passing, shooting, etc. Obviously you need a modded PS2 to play it.

Thanks a lot man. Gotta go simulate the World Cup with USA so I figured I may as well get the most up to date version. PES5 it is.

you won't be able to play the ps2 version in North America though. different region.
You can, however, play the PC version of PES5 just fine.

Well I just want to play on PC for now anyway, but can't I play pretty much any Japanese game with a Magic 3 mod chip?

Too bad so many countries that qualified for the WC aren't in PES5. We'll have to wait for the Superpatch for a true WC simulation.
