I have been hearing good things about this game and I have no idea of what it is and all the details. Could someone maybe provide me with a link describing this game or telling me about it....

Thanx

It's a football management game.

FIFA and stuff like that are simulation, you control the players. Management, you don't. You control the team, it's all quite detailed really, I would suggest buying it.

You buy players, sell players, contracts.
Control moral, train players, make your own tactics.
Pressure your board for things you want.
Complain to the FA about referees and so on.

The latest installment, CM4 is to be released sometime in March.
The official developers site is at www.sigames.com

Nice to see more people taking up the game. :)

Don't get your hopes up.

3rd December - Delayed
14th February - Delayed
28th February - Delayed
Mid-March - "Release" date

I am guessing some time round abouts April before we see it appearing on our shelves.

Well CM is very unpridictible. Its always getting relesed late but never this late before :brow:

I suppose it was that less :drevil: features :drevil: would have been included

*cough* . . . Transfer window ... *cough*

LOL nice use of the :drevil: smiley there Liam ;)

But seriously, CM is not just a football management simulation game, it is the football management simulation game!!!!

It is realistic, enjoyable, challenging and has a magnificant multiplayer system.

I seriously recommend getting it.

Sweet! I'll probably buy it this weekend. I have a couple questions though:

Is the Portuguese league in the game? If not is Benfica in the game?
Is CM better than TCM?
Is it an online game?
Is there an offline career mode thing?

Thanx!

1. Yes the Portuguese league is one of the 26 playable leagues and Benifica are in the game.

2. IMO Championship Manager is way better then TCM

3 + 4. It can be played offline as a single player game or online as a network game. Both are excellent.

Awesome!
One last thing :p

Do you get to watch the game your team plays and give them directions during the game or at half time?

You watch the game by means of text commentry and can make substitutions, tactical changes or alter team instructions at any time during the match.

Basically, CM is a lot more tactical than TCM. THis means that when you DO win on CM, its a lot more rewarding. TCM does have a very good training system though.

CM is the ultimate managment game. It has everything.

By the way, just for the record, CM4 will be released in March, i dont know why i think this,. i just do.

TROD.

So so cynical, CM3 also came out in March so I see no reason why we won't be playing CM4 during mid-March. I'd also like to note only FOUR WEEKS until the playable demo is released the public! :)

You may also want to try Ultimate soccer manager 98. (USM98).

That's another one of my favourite management games.

Search http://www.google.com for Ultimate soccer manager 98.

You can download it from KaZaA.

Another superb, free games (DOS based) is Football Fanatic, which you can get from www.thundebear.com. This game helped me through my CM withdrawal between 2000/2001 and 2001/2002.

No.

Championship manager is made by Eidos or SI games. I dunno, don't care really as long as I can play it :)

TCM, you do get to watch your team play, you also get to tell them where to put penalties, complain to the ref in the match and so on, but the 3D match engine is FIFA 2002. And we all know how crap that was. If it was FIFA 2003, then yeah, it would be decent :)

TCM is made by EA, and there is a 3D match "engine". However, it is quite laughable to see it in action, and thus I recommend this as much as I recommend every Spice Girls album: not at all. CM is proven to be the best football management game in history. TCM 2003 is only proven to be the most buggy football management game in history.

Sweet! I'll buy CM then :)

BTW, whats the newest version of CM, 2001-2002?
