:o......dude don't get so upset.
I do remember that Mercosur and I could barely give a crap about Penarol. But really, Penarol is Penarol. They were what Boca is now for the last 40 years (and just begun to slump recently). I'm sure Corinthians does well in Brazil (and I'm glad for them). But so does Bolivar in BOlivia (and I heard they have ALOT of fans in Bolivia). It's like comparing Boca to Bolivar. Penarol is Penarol and that's why they are so famous world wide.

And no good players? Decline in NT? Dude do you think I'm from Chile? (they have really been declining over the years)

And last time I checked: Uruguay vs. Brazil in WC Qualifyers recently

2000- 1-1 Tie (IN Brazil and a last second fake penalty that had Brazil fans booing even AFTER Rivaldo scored :o )
2001- Uruguay wins 1-0
2003- Embarass you guys with the 3-3 tie in Brazil
2005- 1-1 Tie- (Where you had to tie with a huge offside goal :funny: )

God I love being the eternal "Thorn in Brazil's Throat" (as all my Brazilian friends call us) (H)

But as it was said before by Scoucer (sorry for spelling)- You were pretty much askign for it. But though I argued against you, I NEVER lost the respect and actually went as far as insulting your team/nation AND by saying how they both suck.

Also do you want to know WHY Chelsea is popular and respected NOW (remember this could only be temporary unless Chelsea manage to hold on to this trend and build on it).....IT's because Chelsea is AMAZING right now. They have almost no history to fall back on if they were to slump again into mid table hell for years to come, they'd prob get forgotten again. The same way people respect Sao Pablo as a club but mostly because they are so awesome right now too.

Corinthians has no past and I don't exactly recall Corinthians winning 6 Libertadores in the last 10 years.

oh and: maracanazo 1950 forever baby!!! :rockman: :rockman:
(that was worth 10 World Cups for us.....We'd never qualify to a WC again and be happy cause of that. It was TOO priceless to beat Brazil in the stadium which was "O mas grande do Mundo" ;)

well...what can I say...

ur not exactly a thorn in brazil's throat...ur just one bitter uruguayan fan with a large akcnowledge of the past of ur teams...

do u dare to compare corinthians to boca or bolivar in terms of national meaning...a team which has around 15 million fans? (perhaps the hugest fan base of the world, since flamengo's fans are quite unactive, due to their team's awful performances lately)...dont' say crap.

well, I don't care if corinthians didn't win 6 libertadores in the last 10 years. did peñarol? and where is it right now and why? a lame squad, with a lame performance. tell me what they did in libertadores lately. btw, can u tell some other team than penarol and nacional in uruguay, which really fights for the title?

everytime corinthians participated in libertadores in the last editions it did, it had always the best performance or at least top 3 in the qualifying (group play) stage. the same for finals. just flip the history and how the games went and u tell me what was wrong...tradition or chance.

the rest of south america, except brazil loves to brag about their tradition...that's why the other teams are always top of the top in world cups and continental competitions...get real, kid.

You got your answers straight...
No go fvck off..

I know....look how mad he is. (H)

And as for other teams that challenge
1) Danubio (last champ) and Defensor
2) URuguay has 3 million ppl.....Brazil has 250 million (dont know exactly and couldnt care less). I guess THE LEAST they could do is have like 10 teams challenge seriously for the title........but they dont. So what's your excuse?

"bitter Uruguayan fan" ?. Look who's the one throwing the hissy fit just because he found out that his "grand" Corinthians is less known and respected than a random squirel. 15 Million fans? Good for you man (Y). You actually found something you can celebrate for now!!! :lui: :fool:

Bitter is hilarious. I'm having a blast at how pissed you're getting.

Now you got your answer. No one cares about Corinthians and aren't even worth hating. Now sit the fu** down and shut up. :)

Damn... It looks like some people will start caring about Corinthians now... they'll hate them...
As if we didn't have enough Corinthians haters in Brazil already...

Now, my plea... Don't hate Corinthians because of their supporters... :(
please just forget about us... it's not like we'll make you remember us because we won't be winning the Libertadores anytime soon

Isn't that team that beat my team last sunday? :p

Seriously, they say Corinthians is the "Flamengo from São Paulo" but I don't
really care about Corinthians.

2 - How well know Sao Paulo FC is?
Bambis. The third team I most hate(after Flamengo and Sergipe :p)

3 - Do you recognize Corinthians World Cup of Clubs Title as official?
Yes, many of Vasco fans wouldn't, but in my opininion this was the ONLY world chapionship won by a club. For me that Toyota Cup is not more than a friendly... Corinthians is the only champions and Vasco is the only runners-up(thanks Edmundo!)

It's been said a few times that the Intercontinental could be a friendly.
But I've seen many in my life and they play at the same intensity as if it was the CL or Libertadores Final (fighting, red cards, serious injuries, crying at the end of the game <countless of times including the heart breaking Riquelme in 2000 vs. Bayern).

You dont cry when losing a friendly man.

Vasco can also be called sub-champs of the World cause they also lost an intercontiental. So it's the same thing for them regardless.

Actually, I guess the intercontinental's more of a competition for us south americans... a way to get back at the europeans, how everyone believes the europeans would win easily, and a chance to prove them wrong...

To the europeans the CL is much more important, because they consider their clubs better than any other club in the world... and so it's better to beat say AC Milan in the CL final than Once Caldas in the Intercontinental...

As it is, neither the Intercontinental nor the World Club Championship can be considered a fair competition between Europe and S. Am... mainly because europeans don't care a bit about it... (I'm not saying they'd win if they cared... I'm just saying they don't care... much like Brazil in friendlies... you always have the impression they didn't try hard enough)

Maybe as more S. Americans find their way to Europe, then the game may mean something... but the fact that it's played during the middle of the season in Europe may make them think more about their domestic league and qualification to the CL next season than winning the Intercontinental/WClubChampionship...

ressurrecting the other topic and looking back at this, i can realize how sad that pasion guy was. man, I don't even know if he's still active here, and I couldn't care less. i really thought that people's opinion about the world club cup would really change though.
