Here is the guide of how you can update the option file for WE8I to have correct team/player/stadium names and much more.
FOR PS2 ONLY, you don't need xport/maxdrive, all you need is CD burner, a blank CD-R, a memory card and mod ps2 or swap magic, and following the instruction below:
First, you need to download this Option File here (credit goes to Djsaunders from PESFAN for making it, I only converted the file):

What you get from this OptionFile: correct team/player/stadium names, latest players transfer updates, international squads updates, 100's new created players, many adjustments to players' appearances, lineups and formations updates.
Then go to this tutorial, download the tools needed and follow the instruction there. These may sound like long tasks but they are really easy. The link is:

After download the tools needed, you can skip the step making OptionFile with PS2 Save Builder (cuz you already have the file from the first link) and start right away with CDGENPS2. Some advices when you follow those instructions, don't forget to make the dummy file, burn the CD at the slowest possible speed. If the CD burned with Nero doesn't boot up, try burning with CDRWin. And if you use swap magic, use the boot CD disc, and press square instead of x after swap.
