Well I have finally figured out how to add weather effects for FIFA 2004...

Rain

Pour some water over your monitor every 2 minutes or so, slowly, and not very much. Realism PES3 freaks cannot complain anymore, nothing can get more realistic than this!

Also: for really heavy and constant rain, buy a shower head with really really long cord, replace your original shower head with that, place shower head on top of monitor and open the water to a very slow trickle.

Fog

Place a steaming hot cup of coffee or plate of food under monitor. Note: Fog will slowly dissolve after about 10 minutes, adding more to realism factor!

Snow

Go to your freezer, scrape out some frost, sprinkle over monitor (lots!). Notice that snow effect will slowly melt over time! Totally realistic!

Crowd flashes

Put a camera beside your monitor, and set the timer to desired, recommend 1 min. Now you will get super authentic camera flashes from the crowd!

Note: After you score a goal and doing the goal celebrations, manually press the camera shutter button.

Flares

Still trying to figure this out. Suggestions welcome!

No need to thank me, it is my passion to service for the FIFA community.

funny list :D

But this is so sad, i didnt even realize there is no flashes in the game.

Honestly what did EA add to this game from previous years?
Other than a lot of awful english 2nd/3rd teams (no offense, but honestly if they are not in the top division then they suck), a horrendous career mode and more stadiums.

crappy music that makes you want to break your sound card (Wallla wakka, wallla wakka woooooo. RIVER BANDITS!!!!! grrrr) thank goodness they gave you the option of being able to select which songs you dont want to hear. No flares, camera flashes, flags, long sleeves, weather, awful cinematics at the start and end of the game, players are all the same in terms of skill, I see no difference between Ronaldo and Kevin Barns from FC Dingwall United of the 5th division in England, they are both the same speed and can do the same dribble moves but 1 is rated in the high 90s and the other in the 30s . I cant edit the lineup of the other team in friendly matches unless i go through the weakest user interface in any game ever. They added more stadiums which is good, but i hear no difference between the San Siro that holds 200,000,000 people and one of those little stadiums that hold 500 people. The cinematics keep showing the zoomed in up close shots of the players faces and it scares me because they all look like corpses, the shirts are no better than FIFA 2001 quality (just look at PAO's green shirt, there is a big dark green patch and then next to it very light green). From what i know, 2GK kits are impossible for this game, which really sucks because of all the talented kit makers out there that have made previous fifas a lot more interesting with their beautiful kits. no way to edit your players until the end of december almost 2months after the game came out :S. At least back in the day you were given a crappy editor that was good enough until Chau Lee made his awesome FED's :(. Has anyone figured out how to curve the ball in regular play when making a pass or shot (not freekicks)?????

Sky reloaded you need to grow up , you have got to be a fifa freak then, you obviously would not know a good soccer game if it bit you on your arse. the gameplay of fifa 2004 is totally lacking compared to pes3.

Hey, i finally got it...EA spent 80% of their time over the year taking stuff out...19% on gameplay and 1% on testing...

think about it, it makes sense....

my mistake, i saw some flags while using B. Dortmund in their home stadium, but i didnt see flags in others.

if EA spent the whole year on gameplay then shame on them.

I never played or even care much PES or Winning 11 or whatever those playstation games are, but from what everyone says, those games have good gameplay that puts FIFA to shame. If i didnt want nice graphics and all the teams and players than i would have gone out and bought a PS2 and PES for the gameplay.

Well just because I have fun with FIFA 2004 doesn't mean I need to grow up. So you can save the wisecracks for other flame war threads. I'm not PES bashing either, I tried PES and the gameplay was okay, but I never got around to really enjoy it 100% because of the constant framerate changing. One second it is 30 fps smooth, next second it goes slow mo 10 fps, then when the CPU defense clears the ball it shoots up to 60 fps and everyone runs like a black man runnin from white cops. (no offense to black people... just a metaphor ;) )

And I agree, EA spent wayyyyyy too much time on the cosmetics... when we play a game we focus on the players and the grassy fields, not what the stadium looks like. Whenever I watch matches on TV I don't really care about the stadium. What I would really like to see, is remove most of the stadiums, and with the left over resources, make the crowd behind the goal stand up and go nuts after you score a goal! That would be awesome.

Sorry sky reloaded, i got the wrong end of the stick.

You just see so many people slagging off fifa 2004 and pes3, and at the end of the day both games have their qualities and let downs, i just think pes3 is so much better in gameplay than fifa 2004, and gameplay is what it is all about. so sorry again:)

Great weather effects. Thanks to EA, ppl must use their own imagination. Perhaps you think you deserve a salary. LOL.
Shame on EA for promising things they can't deal with. Shame on EA for let us think Fifa is the best soccer game ever. Shame on EA for spenting all year working....to finally ear ppl complaining. Shame on EA, 'cause they're about to loose PC soccer games market. Shame on EA, 'cause they've already lost PS2 soccer games market.

hey thanks for the tips on weather enhancements Sky Reloaded. My computer wasn't too keen on the whole shower thing and it REALLY didn't like the flare I shoved in it's drive but what authenticity!

I've also taken to rolling about in some mud whenever I'm playing an away tie but I kept slipping off my chair so I've had to stop that.

Speaking of wild speculation, did you know the real reason EA never has a Dutch national team is because Patrick Kluivert demanded every single player would have to have his face?

Actually that's a big fat lie, it's really because your computer can't simulate the colour orange. Seriously man, even one pixel of true orange would blow the roof off your hose.

seems to me that you don't like the game. Why did you bought it? didn't we agree that you fifa-haters can go over to a PES3 forum last time this discussion came up?
