I just remembered, back in primary school, we made up this really cool hame called "GA-Ball" (me and my mate made it up, hence GA-Glen-my mate, and me-Alex)
Anyway, u used a tennis ball, and basically, and u had teams of about 10-11, on a soccer/rugby sized field, except with a goal about 1/4 the size of a soccer one.
U could run with the ball, or whatever. U could throw it forward, abck anyway. If u were tackled/tipped (depends which teacher was on duty) by the opposition, u would have to tap it on ur foot, and then, pass it off, and the game would continue.
However, to score u had to kick it in the goal, u couldnt just throw it. Also like Rugby League, u only get 6tackles, before its a hand over.
Sound pretty complex? nah its easy, and i still think it is one of the most fun games ive played. The type of game, that we could really make into a succesful sport. We used to have about 30 people playing every recess and lunch, for 2years!
hmmm, one day, im going to teach some people to play it again.
Cheers

When I was in Year 7 (final year of primary school) we played a variation on Australian Rules Football...

We played using a Soccerball, Soccer Goal and a goalie...

the rules of the game were the same as AFL (there were none :D)

We played this at lunchtime until the principal found out and suspended 8 boys after a Melee (all in brawl) broke out while playing it!

We played it in class time once with AFL rules using the Football field

our teacher had no idea of the rules, so the lunchtime game broke out a few times!!!

needless to say we only played it twice!

Edit: We called is Psychoball!!!

Funny how everyone took it for granted that there is a game of underwater icehockey!:crazyboy:

We used to play soccer at school on the playground at lunchtime, using the rubber bung from a science laboratory belljar as the ball. As it was tapered it would roll in a large circle, so power was the main technique. Also only 50 or so kids on the playground were playing, the other 600 or so were just in the way!

The other wierd playground ball-game was soccer with a PowerBall. yes, one of those super-bouncy balls that rebound to about 90% of the height from a straight drop. Needless to say, high scoring games resulted!:crazyboy:

Once, at school, we played football (or soccer) with a rugby ball. If the ball went more than 10 metres in the air, we could catch it and then it became AFL rules (except for the goals) until it touched the ground (not including bounces). Once that happened, we returned to football rules.
