WE8, DVD-region X and PS2-origachip

After buying a DVD burner, I finally got to patching my original WE8 DVD with Fernando v6.
I'm using a memorex 4x DVD-R to burn.
It just does not boot up.

Has anyone been successful in booting DVD-Rs with a modded PS2-Origachip
and DVD Region X ?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've been using the same PS2 with DVD region X for WE7, WE7int CD rips.
But this is the first time I'm using DVD-R.

I tried it about 10 times yesterday night,
and it still does'nt work.
I don't know if it's a problem with DVD region X, or is it the DVD-R, or the burn speed ?
I burnt it at 4x speed using DVDdecrypter.
My PS2 is one of the earlier models, so I'm not sure if it supports DVD-R or DVD+R.
