WE7I - Playing the Advantage?

I'm honestly not even sure if this is the advantage, but lets say I tackle the opponent and he stumbles and the ball goes loose... this yellow thing shows up on the top left of the screen, which I'm thinking is advantage being played... but then I run and get the ball and play continues :| is the yellow thing actually advantage or am I an idiot?

You are not an idiot, Konami are the idiots. they have implemented a ropey version of the advantage rule (still better than Fifa's!... which is none)

Yes the yellow triangle that appears is the adavantage being called!
But if the team the advantge was called for doesnt get the advantage, then it doesnt get called back!!!

What is the point in it at all?!?!?

Yes, a small picture shows up at left upper corner which means a ref has given an advantage rule, however if you foul a player and the pics shows up, and you continue to play for like 5 to 10 secs the ref will whistle and rule a foul regardless of the advantage rule.

I was playing a game one night when , I lost the ball on the wing to a defender. He took the ball and run forward up the wing and I gave chase , he was just about to cross over the halfway line when I slid in just in front of him. I knocked the ball over the halfway line and a spilt second later he tripped over my boot. Up went the "yellow" advantage sign , my tackle did not bring him down , but it made him stagger for about 2 or 3 steps before he regain his balance and got the ball and made off over the halfway line. He got about 2 or 3yrds when the whistle went, ( I was still on the ground ) none of my other players were within 10 to 15yrds of him, as I said I was still on the ground as he collected the ball and made off up the park when the whistle went and the game went into a cut scene of the ref running over to my player on the ground he pulled out a RED card and sent me off. he pulled the play back and gave the op-team a freekick

As I said my tackle knocked the ball on a few yards and made the player I tackled stagger for a few steps before he collected the ball and ran on a few yards before the whistle went and the ref came over and sent me player off. None of my other players were anyewhere near him when the ball was loose, and as I said he regained his balance and made off with the ball..


This was the 1st time I had ever seen this happen , I have been tackled by CPU players and not went down but staggered for a few steps, but unlike the player I tackled, my player lost the loose ball to an op-player and no freekick was given to me...

Nay bother Tic!! I have noticed that actually in my firends copy of WE7I actually. I was more concerned with say when the Yellow is flagged in say a 2 player mode and the yellow sign is flagged cos yer mate tackled ya, he gains the ball after the said tackle and makes off with it, the bleedin ref doesnt call it back. really annoying!!! Whats the point eh?

well, one thing I've realized is that the advantage doesnt count if it was a tackle worth a booking or an ejection :confused:

The advantage rules got fix in "WE7I - Jap version" on PS2. Referee will call back a freekick in the situation that [Rony31] described above. I saw it happen a few times when I play with my mates.

Yep....Only in WE 7 International NTSC/J that the advantage is well implented. It has been fixed. However, in PES 3 the advantage rule is really useless.:kader:

Yep We7i jap version is what I'm playing now, and the advantage is spot on.. WE7, PES3, there was no advantage, the ref may put up the yellow sign saying there is advantage, but never call it that way. I was bad..

We7i jap is the best version of the game out there till we8.

I think the reffing could do with a big improvement in this game.
Dare I say it but reffing in Fifa is generally better.
