It's amazing how everyone gets so fired up about football games. I've noticed that the fanboy contingent is rather high on both sides (WE and FIFA). In reality both games have their good points.

WE
Stellar gameplay (this in itself is rewarding enough)
Master League Career mode

FIFA
FIFA license
graphics and sound
available globally without the need to import
easy to edit

I play both games and I have to say that WE6I (I'm in the States and refuse to pay even more money to play WE6FE considering the cost does not justify the few improvements made) is by far a more satisfying game because of the realistic gameplay. Obviously the AI is not perfect but definitely very good. I actually went out and purchased a PS2 so I could play the game and was not disappointed.

On the other hand I still play FIFA because I enjoy the arcade aspect of the game. FIFA 2003 is not very realistic and can be frustrating however because of the inability to attack properly from the air or change tactics. It looks fantastic though, hehe.

I love winning eleven 6. I only have a demo, but it's the best football game I have ever played.

I do play Fifa 2002 consistantly on the PC though, because it is pretty good.... but it does have its flaws (ahh, nothing like scoring 3 seconds off the kickoff)

For your information, FIFA 2002 is peace of s.hit. FIFA 2002 is one of the worst football simulation that EA Sports ever released. I said "one of", so FIFA 2000 is the worst.
From my perspective, the best football simulations are FIFA '98 and FIFA 2003.
And, i think that FIFA 2004 will surprise me.

FIFA 2002 was a dismal game I agree. At least heading worked in the game though. It seemed like the CPU was offsides all the time when playing long balls.

Wo, someone said WE 7 is not realistic... just see the gameplay... there are MISSED TOUCHES... which is very common in real life... you can hardly find it in FIFA...

I can't play any FIFA games, its just not football. It doesn't play like football, it doesn't resemble anything I love about the beutiful game....

WE7 is the daddy.....

Actually that is about to change. It has been announced that PES3 will be available on the PC around nov. or dec.

haha Iggy...vidit cemo, but why bet on a losing horse? EA has convincigly been outdone EVERY time out of the gate, yet you still have faith. I admire that. I can't play FIFA unless they actually try to imitate real football, not likely.

I cant belive there is people that keeps thinking that FIFA is better than WE.
I have played almost every version of WE and FIFA ,And I think:

good grraphics
and.........anything else????

Famous players are really well done ..but some(a lot) of other players are crap ..for example some white players are black!or different hair color.
Gameplay is really bad
in the animations they look like robots.
and the comments are BAAADDDD....there is no emotion in the comments!

My view on this topic is that these two games shouldnt be compared. Fifa is not in the same league as the pes games
When my ps2 was in working order it was the only footy game i would play, but now since the ps2 has given up on me im stuck with fifa 03 on the pc. Dont get me wrong its fun to edit the kits and faces but when it comes to playing the game your bored after the first couple of games. With pes you cant put the control pad down it totally hooks u in.

If or when this new pes3 comes out on the pc it will completely take over this forum, it will be all people talk about. Especially if ur are able to edit the game like fifa.

Also the game u should be comparing with pes this is football. in my opinion its a lot more fun to play than fifa, ok it still doesnt come close to pes but it comes a lot closer than fifa
