WE7 slide tackling is still "iffy"!

The collision detection is a bit off still when it comes to slide tackles... I have slide in front of a guy running, the ball hits me easily first and then he trips over me and its a call.

This happen even more in We6 FE, but come on, you win a ball perfect and the whistle blows..

And then there are other times, the cpu comes right through me, barges me down.. no call.. its annoying, so annouying....

BUT how can I be annoyed at this game. The games so damn good.. I love it oh so much, oh so much… :)

Yah...that's horrible! I hate it.

Also, how come whenever you want to defend a cpu player, and ur making the perfect run angle, you always end up behind him, and stuck there...it's sooo stupid. The cpu player can hold off 3 defenders with his arms...common now! And when it seems you finally changed into a player to steal it, he falls over, and the whistle blows.

Also, once again, WE neglected speed during gameplay. It seems as if any old shyte defender can run past, and steal a ball, from a sprinting roberto carlos, giggs, etc...pathetic. But hey, I guess when you have the ball, and ur shifting, it slows you down, in a sense. However, if this was the case, then the cpu forwards shouldn't have the killer speed either.

All in all, this game still is the best i've played. And my favorite new improvement, is the running animations when you're holding down sprint, and u change directions ever so slightly...I do it even when i don't need to, just to make the run look more realistic.:rockman:

I know what you mean with this one. The amount of times I have made a perfect tackle and then been called up for it and I can even remember being sent off for it more than once. :kader:

I suppose it would be a hard thing to master when you design a game.

I really need to get playing WE7. I still need to Chip my PS2

Well this is how it goes when you go out on the pitch and play for real hey.
It is much easier to run faster without a ball than being a runner with the ball.

But getting back to some of the defenders that hound you down, check out the attributes of those defenders and then compare them to the attackers attribs just to see where any differences are, and if the attacker has in fact got better speed and pace attribs etc, perhaps the programmers have factored in the mechanics of the ball carrier being hindered with having the 'drag or inertia' when running with the ball.

When in doubt check back away from the defender, keep out of trouble, when in doubt pass the ball, when in doubt try a hit on the target, keep changing the focal point of the attack, diagonal, back, forward, keep possession, don't play the ball, BE the ball, run em ragged, prise open those miserly prisons of defences and then go for it. --

Like I said, shyte defenders are tracking down my top forwards. Who would think Henry could be caught on a breakaway, by a defender from Anderlecht, with a rated speed of 72...hmmmm

you know what's sooo pathetic...the fact that in the box, i've had several open looks, and somehow, the defender will, from behind, go through me, and knock the ball away. Also, my player will miss the shoe completely. I'd understand if some young player was open, and missed the kick, but in extra time, in the WC final, Vieri just plain misses the ball on a shot...and it stays there...Vieri then just stops, and falls over. WTF!!!! This has happened on numerous occasions.

This game is really "pissing me off"

Well the speed issue I dont have many complaints about.. I feel it has alot to do with OUR ability at turning whille on full sprint that we havent mastered yet, the cpu obviously has.. but I have broken away many times, the likes of Mathis, Nakata, Doni, no of which are speed demons.. and of course my lil babangida blows by cpu defenders, if they are not up to the task of stoping him. And I'm playing on 4 stars.

My point is I think WE make lil errors like angling wrong, or shifting back and forth on accident on a break away that slows us down.... I'm having so much fun in the ML, I got promoted in my second season.. and bought a a couple gems.... started out well ins d1, I'm playing in Italy, with AC Milan and I'm caught in a power struggle on top with Inter, Lazio, Juve and and couple others.. 2w-1L and one away leg cup win 1-0. Nice start I would have to say :)

Since you guys are talking about the fouls, I always get called for a foul while going for a header at least once a game, sometimes the call is so damn late too.

And also sometimes I slide the guy and the advantage/play on thingy comes up, but a short while later the whistle will blow and I get called for a foul anyways.

Speaking of the advantage calls (and the handling calls, for that matter), any way to turn them OFF? I think these may be the only changes to the game I could do without. I've seen way too many handling calls and the advantage calls seem to be wrong about 50% of the time.

I dont know, but I like the "handling" calls.. its a nice touch... I figured out that probably when I go sliding in 1 out of 2 calls is a bad tackle the other is a hnadball because your other arm is on the ground when the ball makes contact with you...

Anyway, the hand balls I like. :)
