WE7 PES4 confusion

I'll admit it. i am (was) a huge FIFA fan for years and years. but i want to get away from the 'arcade' soccer and get into a moer realistic simulation.

my confusion though is the difference between WE7 (which is available and I just might purchase this weekend) and PES4 (which i cannot find info for at ANY store i have called)

are these the same game? they are both from konami and both sound interesting from what i've gathered from these forums. but i dont see any comparisions of the WE series and the PES series which makes me wonder is PES is even available in the US. no one ive talked to has a release date for PES in their shipment systems.

I hear good things about PES4 but WE7 is already available and i could go get a copy today if i wanted.

should i get WE7I or should I wait for some word on PES4 in the US for PC.

thanks for all your help.

Pro Evolution Soccer and Winning Eleven is practically the same. WE is the Japanese original, and Pro Evolution Soccer is the European version.

WE7 is NOT the same as PES4 though. WE8 is "the same" as PES4.

Not sure whether or not you can buy it in the USA, but you can order it from many pages, for example www.play.com .

PES 4 is MUCH better than WE7 - and it offers online play!

So go and import it from Europe; there are some shops on the net where you can do this!

Use the seach-function to find them...

ebay

you can try ebay too. i bought PES3 on ebay last year. PES is way easier to find than WE in Canada believe it or not. It's not very popular here so you gotta get the import.

And yes, no cd rom version... which i think is cool. That's why i love importing games from Europe! none of those lame 4-5 disc installs. just put in one disc and give'r.

DVD drives are super cheap nowadays. just go buy one. You won't regret it.

Hiddnfox:

Winning Eleven and Pro Evolution Soccer games are almost the same games BUT trust me as a first timer like many of us you will notice that Winning Eleven is kinda better than PES. It`s smoother and the gameplay is always slower (realistic) so that`s why many people will tell you the same thing.

You should look at things this way:

You have Winning Eleven 7, then you have WE7 so it should be WE7 vs PES3 (the older version) then Winning Eleven 7: International came which was a huge hit it was made for three countries.. Winning Eleven 7:Int (USA - this version was the same as European Pro-Evo 3) then you have WE7I (Korean version which was "slightly" different from PES3 and WE7I(USA) and then you have WE7IJ (Japan - the best one) You can buy Winning Eleven 7 Int. USA that will play on your PS2 if it`s not modded.

If you have your PS2 modded I recommend that you buy Winning Eleven 8 (if you care about all world known national/club teams if not then buy Winning Eleven 8: J League (the newest WE version only for Japanese folks)

So far WE8 is the best game I have played..
