WE7: names to english refresher?

Well, having just moved and having no internet, I am a week sober of the soccergaming forums. Anyway, I finally got my copy of WE7 and what more can be said, it is simply amazing. Seems like a whole new game ( all for the better of course ) To my question though, I thought in previous WE games, it was possible to switch player names all to english without having to type them in manuelly and without having to get some patch? Something to the effect of defaulting all the names and they turn to english somehow? Maybe I am confusing my experiences all into one jumble mumble, correct me if I am wrong so this issue of mine can be resolved, please?

A couple situations. If you have a WE6FE option file and load it, it will replace some of the names of the players to their english names...the reason it does it is on the second situation.

If you have a patched game with an old option file, you have to reset to players names to default to rid of the japanese character names that the old option file was overriding.

So, if you have a WE6FE option file, load it and it will replace some player names. Apart from that, we have to wait for a patch.

I think I can patiently wait for a patch, I still need to log in tons more practice hours with this game before I can even consider touching the ML.

So you've finally got WE7 ! It must feel good eh ?
Yeah, I'm thoroughly enjoying this game. I'm currently using
the latest Korean patch which has translated most of the players'
names and some menus into English.
I'm also logging in 2 hours a day with Friendlies/Cups.
The learning curve is a bit steep at times. I'm now using
the left analogue stick for moving the player. I must say that WE7 does encourage using it for dribbling and moving around.
I'm currently getting used to Level 4. I find this level just about
correct for now. The new AI takes some getting used to.
I spent a week on Level 3, but the CPU was very defensive and did not score too many.
I can't wait for the full English patch. Then I will think about trying ML.

Yeah. I ended up buying it from play-asia -sighs- dayum computer problems. anyway. heh. It feels like a whole new game to me. It's amazing how much more realistic the game flows and actually is. Shots, headers, dribbling, everything seems fantastic. I think its good you are learning to use LAS to move your players around. It's much better in my opinion. More manuverability and freedom per say. I am working with the RAS though for my long passes and what not.I am still plugging away like you at friendlies and cups on 5 star, it's tough, but I am getting the hang of it. One thing i noticed and maybe i am wrong, teams play better in cups than in friendlies. Anyway, onto me getting my butt whooped by the comp on WE7. Later.

I am new here, I love WE7, this time they improved dribbling a lot, now I am practicing on 3 star level, is hard to score. I am aslo waiting for the English patch.

the_man, can you explain more specific how to load the English from the WE6FE option file on WE7? Thanks in advance

Take your mem cartridge with the WE6FE option file. Go to the option file screen. the option menu with WE6FE is the one you want to go to. When you select it it will get your option file from your old card. Most player names will be translated to english (assuming your old option file is from a patched version of WE6FE).
